Another reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.

I wrote to you for another special reason. I wanted to see if you could stand the test. I wanted to see if you could obey everything asked of you.

For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything.

I wrote to you as I did to test you and see if you would fully comply with my instructions.

In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus was, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.I had boasted to him about you, and you have not embarrassed me. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting about you to Titus has proved to be true as well.And his affection for you is all the greater when he remembers that you were all obedient, receiving him with fear and trembling.

Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed.

He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you.

Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.

you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.
