开诚布公的责备胜过隐藏的爱。朋友加的创伤出自真诚，仇敌连连亲吻却是多余。

耶和华说话了，你们要留心听，不可傲慢。趁着你们的上帝耶和华还未使黑暗来临，你们还未在漆黑的山上绊倒，要把荣耀归给祂。否则，祂必使你们期望的光明变为幽冥和黑暗。如果你们因为骄傲而不肯听，我会暗自哭泣、泪流满面，因为耶和华的子民将要被掳。

为了你们的灵魂，我甘愿付出，包括自己的生命。难道我越爱你们，就越得不到你们的爱吗？

我曾为从前写的那封信令你们忧伤而后悔，但现在不后悔了，因为我知道那封信令你们忧伤只是暂时的。现在我很欢喜，当然不是因为你们忧伤而欢喜，而是看见你们因忧伤而悔改了。因为你们这样忧伤合乎上帝的心意，使你们不致因我们而受到任何损失。

我已经多次告诉你们，现在又流着泪提醒你们：有许多人行事为人与基督的十字架为敌。

耶稣快到耶路撒冷时，看见那城就哀哭，说：“今天你若知道那能带给你平安的事就好了！可惜这事现在是隐藏的，你看不见！因为有一天敌人要在你周围筑起壁垒把你团团围住，四面攻击你。他们要把你夷为平地，毁灭你城墙里的儿女，不会留下两块叠在一起的石头，因为你没有认识到上帝眷顾你的时刻。”

我要求你们忠贞不渝，正如上帝要求祂的子民忠贞不渝一样。因为我曾把你们当作贞洁的少女许配给一位丈夫——基督。

我心里极为忧愁，痛苦不止！为了我的弟兄——我的同胞以色列人，即使我自己被咒诅、与基督隔绝，我也愿意！

我泪流成河，因为人们不遵行你的律法。

对同胞不可心中怀恨。同胞有错，要当面指正，免得自己因他而担罪。不可报复，不可埋怨同胞，要爱邻如己。我是耶和华。
