對後一種人呢、就做徹頭徹尾死之氣味，對前一種人呢、就做徹頭徹尾活之氣味。要作這些事、誰能夠呢？

在这等人，就作了死的香气叫他死；在那等人，就作了活的香气叫他活。这事谁能当得起呢？

对灭亡的人，这是死而又死的气味；对得救的人，这是生而又生的气味。这些事谁能当得起呢？

对灭亡的人，这是死而又死的气味；对得救的人，这是生而又生的气味。这些事谁能当得起呢？

对灭亡的人而言，这香气是叫人死亡的香气；对得救的人来说，这香气却是叫人得生命的香气。谁能担当这样的重任呢？

对于灭亡的人，这是死亡的气味叫人死；对于得救的人，这却是生命的香气使人活。这些事谁够资格作呢？

对灭亡的人，我们是死亡的香气以至于死亡；对得救的人，我们是生命的香气以至于生命。对这些事，到底谁配得上呢？

對滅亡的人而言，這香氣是叫人死亡的香氣；對得救的人來說，這香氣卻是叫人得生命的香氣。誰能擔當這樣的重任呢？

對於滅亡的人，這是死亡的氣味叫人死；對於得救的人，這卻是生命的香氣使人活。這些事誰夠資格作呢？

對滅亡的人，我們是死亡的香氣以至於死亡；對得救的人，我們是生命的香氣以至於生命。對這些事，到底誰配得上呢？

於此為由死致死之臭味、於彼為由生致生之臭味、孰堪任此乎、

沉淪者臭此、則為死之臭、致死、得救者臭此、則為生之香、致生、誰堪任此乎、

於此為死之臭以致死、於彼為生之臭以致生、誰堪任此乎、

惟於後者實為肅殺之陰氣、而於前者則為令人永生之淑氣耳。嗚呼、誰堪負此重任乎？

To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?

To those who are dying, we are the smell of death. To those who are being saved, we are the perfume of life. Who is able to do this work?

to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?

To some we are an aroma of death leading to death, but to others, an aroma of life leading to life. Who is adequate for these things?

to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?

To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

to the one a savor from death unto death; to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

To some we are an aroma of death leading to death, but to others, an aroma of life leading to life. And who is competent for this?

To the one[ we are] the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who[ is] sufficient for these things?

to the latter an odor from death to death, but to the former a fragrance from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?

to the one a stench from death to death, to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

西面就給他們祝福，對孩子的母親馬利亞說：『看吧，這孩子被設立、必使以色列中許多人跌倒、許多人復起，也必做辯論的對象，將許多人心裏的意念揭露出來；

耶穌說：『為了審判、我才到這世界上來，使看不見的能看見，而能看見的反而成了瞎眼！』

並不是說我們憑着自己能夠以甚麼事為出於自己。我們之所以能夠的、乃是出於上帝；他使我們能夠做新的約之僕役：不是文字上的約，乃是靈的約；因為文字能害死人，靈卻能使人活。

這樣，在你們信的人、基督是寶貴，而在不信的人、他卻不但是『匠人所棄掉的這塊石頭，已成了房角石的頭一塊』，而且是『碰腳的石頭和跌人的磐石』了。他們碰倒了，是因為他們不信真道；這也是被豫定以至於此的。

所以在今天這日子、我確實地告訴你們，你們眾人若流血而滅亡，我乾淨無罪！因為上帝全部的計畫、我並沒有退縮而不傳告你們。

然而靠着上帝的恩，我成了我現在這樣的人；並且他所給我的恩也不見得是空的；不，我反而比他們眾人還勞苦呢；其實並不是我，乃是上帝的恩與我同在。

我成了糊塗人，是你們強逼我的。我本該受你們稱許才是呢。我雖算不了甚麼，卻沒有一件趕不上那些超等的「使徒」啊。

猶太人看見一羣一羣的人，就滿心妒忌，辯駁保羅所講的，說毁謗的話。保羅和巴拿巴卻放膽直說：『上帝之道先對你們講、是必須的，你們既把它推開，斷定自己為不配得永生的，那你就看吧，我們轉向外國人了。因為主曾這樣囑咐我們說：「我立了你做外國人的光，使你做救星直到地極。」』
