When I came to the city of Troas to preach the Good News of Christ, the Lord opened a door of opportunity for me.

Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me,

So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas.

Upon arriving in Antioch, they called the church together and reported everything God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles, too.

Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains.

There is a wide open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.

He was preparing to sail back to Syria when he discovered a plot by some Jews against his life, so he decided to return through Macedonia.Several men were traveling with him. They were Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea; Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica; Gaius from Derbe; Timothy; and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia.They went on ahead and waited for us at Troas.After the Passover ended, we boarded a ship at Philippi in Macedonia and five days later joined them in Troas, where we stayed a week.

The upstairs room where we met was lighted with many flickering lamps.
