好使我們能完全敬神、莊重地過平靜安穩的生活。

你要努力地向神顯明自己是經過考驗的，是無愧的工人，能正確分解真理的話語。

主將會救我脫離一切凶惡之事，並且救我進入他屬天的國度。願榮耀歸於他，直到永永遠遠！阿們。

願賜平安的神親自使你們完全分別為聖。願你們的靈、魂、體，在我們的主耶穌基督來臨的時候，全然得蒙保守、無可指責。

我是這樣禱告的：願你們的愛心能在真正的知識和一切分辨力上，越來越豐足有餘，使你們能分辨是非，好在基督的日子裡是純潔、無可指責的，並且充滿了那藉著耶穌基督而來的義行果子，歸於神的榮耀和稱讚。

忍受試煉的人是蒙福的；因為他經過考驗以後，就要得到生命的冠冕，就是主應許給那些愛他之人的。

你們在外邦人中，要有良好的品行；這樣，當他們誹謗你們是作惡之人的時候，因看到你們美好的行為，就在神臨到的日子榮耀神。

我們要行事端正，好像在白晝中那樣：不可荒宴、醉酒；不可淫亂、好色；不可紛爭、嫉妒。

因為我們不僅要敬重主看為美善的事，也要敬重人看為美善的事。

實際上，當我們軟弱而你們剛強的時候，我們就歡喜；我們還祈求這一點：就是你們得以完全。

我不是求你帶他們離開這世界，而是求你保守他們脫離那惡者。

不要讓我們陷入試探，救我們脫離那惡者。因為國度、權柄、榮耀，全是你的，直到永遠！阿們。

反而在一切事上都證明自己是神的僕人：在極大的忍耐中，在各種患難、艱難、困苦中，

因為那經過考驗的人，不是自我推薦的，而是主所推薦的。

因為有人說：「保羅的書信又嚴厲又強硬，但他親身在的時候卻是軟弱的人，他的言語也被藐視。」

其實我在想，神把我們做使徒的列在最後，好像被定死罪的人；原來我們成了給宇宙、天使、世人的一臺戲。我們為基督的緣故是愚拙的，你們在基督裡倒是聰明的；我們軟弱，你們倒強壯；你們有榮耀，我們倒不受尊重。直到現在這時刻，我們還是又飢又渴，衣不蔽體，被人毆打，居無定所，並且親手勞苦做工。被人辱罵，我們就祝福；被人逼迫，我們就容忍；受到毀謗，我們就勸導。我們被當做世界的垃圾、萬人的渣滓，直到如今。

實際上，你們當中必定也會有結派的事，好讓那些經過考驗的人在你們中間能顯露出來。

不要對任何人以惡報惡；要敬重所有的人看為美善的事；
