我恐至時、見爾不副我所望、而爾見我亦不副爾所望、或有爭鬥、媢嫉、忿怒、朋黨、毀謗、隱刺、妄誇、混亂、

我怕我再来的时候，见你们不合我所想望的，你们见我也不合你们所想望的；又怕有纷争、嫉妒、恼怒、结党、毁谤、谗言、狂傲、混乱的事。

其实我担心，恐怕我来到的时候会发现你们不像我所希望的那样，而你们发现我也不像你们所希望的那样；又恐怕有纷争、嫉妒、暴怒、争竞、诽谤、谗言、自大和混乱；

我怕我再來的時候，見你們不合我所想望的，你們見我也不合你們所想望的；又怕有紛爭、嫉妒、惱怒、結黨、毀謗、讒言、狂傲、混亂的事。

其實我擔心，恐怕我來到的時候會發現你們不像我所希望的那樣，而你們發現我也不像你們所希望的那樣；又恐怕有紛爭、嫉妒、暴怒、爭競、誹謗、讒言、自大和混亂；

余恐至時、爾不能副我所望、我不能副爾所望、恐有爭鬥、媢嫉、忿怒、朋黨、毀謗、隱刺、妄誇、混亂、

我恐來時、見爾不如我所望者、爾見我亦不如爾所望者、又恐爾中有分爭、媢嫉、忿怒、結黨、毀謗、隱刺、狂傲、混亂、

蓋吾深恐爾我相見之時、爾不能副我之望、我亦不能副爾之望；又恐爾中有鬥爭、嫉妒、忿怒、樹黨、誹謗、隱刺、傲慢、紛亂等事；

For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.

I’m afraid that when I come I won’t find you as I want you to be. I’m afraid that you won’t find me as you want me to be. I’m afraid there will be arguing, jealousy and fits of anger. I’m afraid each of you will focus only on getting ahead. Then you will tell lies about each other. You will talk about each other. I’m afraid you will be proud and cause trouble.

For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wish— that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder.

For I am afraid that when I come I won’t like what I find, and you won’t like my response. I am afraid that I will find quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorderly behavior.

For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want, and you may not find me to be what you want. Perhaps there will be quarreling, jealousy, angry outbursts, selfish ambitions, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.

For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish, and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, selfishness, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances;

For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults;

For I fear, lest by any means, when I come, I should find you not such as I would, and should myself be found of you such as ye would not; lest by any means there should be strife, jealousy, wraths, factions, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults;

For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want, and I may not be found by you to be what you want; there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.

For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and[ that] I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest[ there be] debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

For I am afraid that somehow when I come I will not find you what I wish, and you will find me not what you wish. I am afraid that somehow there may be quarreling, jealousy, intense anger, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.

充諸不義、惡慝、貪婪、暴很、媢嫉、兇殺、爭鬥、詭譎、陰險、

革來氏之家人告我、言爾兄弟中有爭、

爾既霑主之仁澤、去諸惡慝、詭譎、偽善、媢嫉、毀謗、

若爾相吞噬、恐相淪亡、爾其慎之、○

凡憾我者竊議我、謀害我兮、

我弱而爾強、我則喜、所求者爾之完全也、我暌違時書此、俾晤對時無事嚴厲、依主賜我之權以建立、非傾覆也、○

兄弟乎、我為爾故、以此比己與亞波羅、令爾學我儕、勿越經所載、勿彼此相衒、誰使爾自異乎、爾何有而非受之乎、既受之、何自誇如未受乎、爾已飽足、已富有、外乎我而秉權、我誠願之、俾我偕爾秉權、

我籲上帝以我心作證、我不適哥林多者、寬容爾也、此非主爾信、乃助爾樂、蓋爾以信而立矣、我意已決、不復以憂就爾、我若令爾憂、則我所令憂者外、孰令我樂乎、昔特書此、恐我來時所當使我樂者、反令我憂、蓋我深信爾眾以我樂為樂也、昔我哀痛迫切、不勝涕泣、以書遺爾、非令爾憂、乃使爾知我愛爾甚也、○

蓋上帝非紊亂之上帝、乃和平之上帝、在聖徒諸會皆然、○

今有人意我不來而自矜、如主許之、我必速就爾、非欲知自矜者之言、乃其能耳、蓋上帝國、不在言而在能、爾何所欲乎、欲我以杖就爾乎、抑以仁慈與溫柔之心乎、

夫爾曹相訟、其失已甚、盍寧受枉受虧乎、乃反作枉作虧、且於兄弟也、

夫形軀之行顯著、即淫亂、污穢、邪侈、拜像、巫術、結仇、爭鬥、忌恨、忿怒、釁隙、朋黨、異端、媢嫉、沉湎、荒宴等類、今我告爾、如昔所言、凡行此者、必不承上帝國、

凡荼毒、忿怒、怨恨、諠譁、訕謗、並諸暴很、宜悉去之、彼此仁愛、慈惠、赦宥、如上帝緣基督赦爾也、

若心懷嫉很朋黨、則勿誇勿誑、以敵真理、此智非自上而來、乃屬地與慾與魔也、蓋媢嫉朋黨所在、必有紛亂與諸惡行、

我身違而心在、如我偕爾而擬犯此者矣、爾與我心會集、以我主耶穌之能、而奉其名、付若人於撒但、以滅其形軀、使其靈得救於主耶穌之日、

蓋爾尚屬形軀、爾中有媢嫉爭鬥、豈非屬形軀、效世人而行乎、或言我宗保羅、或言我宗亞波羅、爾曹非若世人乎、

爾中之戰鬥爭競、奚自哉、非自戰於爾百體中之慾乎、爾欲而不得、爾殺爾嫉而不能得、戰鬥也、爭競也、爾之無所得者、以爾不求也、爾求而不得、以爾妄求、欲用之於爾慾也、淫亂者乎、爾豈不知友於世、乃敵上帝乎、凡欲為世之友者、自為上帝敵也、爾意經言豈徒然哉、其所使居於我儕之靈、詎戀慕以至媢嫉乎、

勿尚虛榮、相激相嫉、

主賜我權、乃建爾、非覆爾、我雖過誇、亦無所愧焉、我言此、免似以書驚爾、

有以我為依血氣而行者、我決意以勇待之、求爾勿使我於晤對時、以待若人者待爾、

乖戾者播爭端、讒毀者間密友、

如有欲爭辯者、我儕無此例、上帝諸會亦無之、○我以此諭爾、非譽之也、以爾會集、非致益而致損、首焉者、聞爾集於會時、互有爭辯、我畧信之、爾中必有偏黨、使諳練者顯焉、

斯人依慾而行、訾議怨尤、口出誇張、為利判人、○

且已設備、俟爾盡服、將譴責諸背逆者、

又恐我再至時、上帝卑我於爾前、我將為彼干罪諸人、未改悔其污穢淫亂、邪侈之行者而憂也、

蓋其言矜誇虛誕、由形軀之慾、以淫邪誘惑甫脫妄行者、

夫上帝之道、由爾出乎、抑獨授爾乎、○有自以為先知、或屬聖神者、當知我所書、乃主之命也、

我昔先言之、今雖暌違、仍先言之、如二次覿面時然、即告彼素干罪者、及其餘人、迨我復來、必不恕之、
