你們這一向還以為我們是向你們辯訴呢！不，我們乃是在基督裏、當着上帝面前說話的；而且一切都是為了建立你們的，親愛的啊。

爾尚意我向爾自訴、然我在基督中上帝前而言也、愛友乎、所言悉以建爾、

爾猶思我向爾曹自訴乎、非也、我賴基督在天主前而言、至愛者乎、凡我所行者、乃為建爾德、

爾等以為吾儕但欲自為辨白耳。實則吾儕對越在天、言不離基督、在一切事上、惟欲己達達人、己立立人而已矣。

Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? We have been speaking in the sight of God as those in Christ; and everything we do, dear friends, is for your strengthening.

All this time, have you been thinking that I’ve been speaking up for myself? No, I’ve been speaking with God as my witness. I’ve been speaking like a believer in Christ. Dear friends, everything I do is to help you become stronger.

Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? It is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ, and all for your upbuilding, beloved.

Perhaps you think we’re saying these things just to defend ourselves. No, we tell you this as Christ’s servants, and with God as our witness. Everything we do, dear friends, is to strengthen you.

Have you been thinking all along that we were defending ourselves to you? No, in the sight of God we are speaking in Christ, and everything, dear friends, is for building you up.

All this time you have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. Actually, it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ; and all for building you up, beloved.

Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification.

Ye think all this time that we are excusing ourselves unto you. In the sight of God speak we in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying.

You have thought all along that we were defending ourselves to you. No, in the sight of God we are speaking in Christ, and everything, dear friends, is for building you up.

Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but[ we do] all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

Have you been thinking all this time that we have been defending ourselves to you? We are speaking in Christ before God, and everything we do, dear friends, is to build you up.

Again, do you think that we are excusing ourselves to you? In the sight of God we speak in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying.

吾宗基督言真而不偽、我心感聖神為證、

主賜我權、非以敗人、乃以輔德、我雖愈誇、吾亦無愧、

兄弟乎、事當若何、爾既集、各人或頌詩、或教訓、或言諸國方言、或默示、或譯諸國方言、皆宜行之以輔德、

我豈復自薦乎、第使爾為我誇、克辨誇外貌之人、彼不誠其心、我若狂、緣上帝而然、我自若、緣爾曹而然、

吾豈復自薦乎、我豈如人、需人之薦書與爾、爾之薦書與人乎、

他人且操此權、況我乎、然我不為之、寧忍諸難、恐阻基督福音、詎不知助祭司者食諸殿、侍祭壇者、頒諸壇乎、如是、主命傳福音、則以福音而生、明矣、然我不為之、我遺書、非欲得此、蓋余寧死、不可使吾所自詡者、歸於烏有、夫我傳福音、無可自詡、不得已耳、誠以不傳福音、則為有禍、且無為而為之、此吾所以自詡、有為而為之、則吾惟任其責、我自詡何歟、即傳基督福音、未嘗傷人之財、雖有權、而我不妄用其權、我原不役於眾、而甘為眾役、致眾獲救、於猶太人我效之、以救猶太人、於法下人我效之、以救法下人、於法外人我效之、以救法外人、然吾不外上帝法、懷基督法矣、於知未至者我效之、以救乎知未至者、於眾而效眾、庶救數人、吾為福音行是、欲與爾同受大賚、

凡我良朋、宜戒拜偶像、

緣益爾曹、余歡然費財盡已、然我愈愛爾、愈失爾愛、

我法基督、言無不實、余在亞該亞全地、所自詡者、無人謂我食言、

凡我良朋、既為主所許、當自潔乃身、去一切有形無形之污、畏上帝而成聖、

恆久可頌吾主耶穌基督之父上帝、知吾不偽矣、

凡我良朋、毋伸己冤、寧待主怒、記有之、主曰、伸冤在我、我必報之、

如我凡事悅眾、不求益己、乃求益人、使其得救、

我所愛慕之兄弟、我所欣詡之良朋、我視爾若冕旒、宜宗主堅立、

余暌違時、以書遺爾、使我與爾晤對、不事嚴法、依主所賜之權、非以敗人、乃以輔德、
