我請提多就爾、又求一弟偕之、提多曾得爾財乎、我眾非同一心乎、非同一跡而行乎、○

我曾慫恿提多至爾處、並遣發一兄弟與之偕、提多曾佔爾便宜乎？吾儕豈非表裏如一、心跡雙清者乎。

I urged Titus to go to you and I sent our brother with him. Titus did not exploit you, did he? Did we not walk in the same footsteps by the same Spirit?

When I urged Titus to visit you and sent our other brother with him, did Titus take advantage of you? No! For we have the same spirit and walk in each other’s steps, doing things the same way.

我们于是劝提多，他怎样开始了这恩惠之事，就当照样在你们那里把它完成；

而且他也成为受割礼之人的父，不仅为那些受了割礼的人，还为那些顺着我们的先祖亚伯拉罕信心之脚踪行走的人；亚伯拉罕的信心在他没有受割礼的时候就已经有了。

请你们接受我们。我们没有亏负过谁，没有败坏过谁，也没有对不起谁。

感谢神，他为了你们，把同样的殷勤放在提多的心里。提多一方面接受了我们的鼓励，另一方面自己更是殷勤，自愿到你们那里去。我们也打发了一位弟兄与他一起去。这位弟兄在福音工作上受到各教会的称赞；不仅如此，他也被各教会选出，与我们一起带着惠赠同行。我们这服事为的是主自己的荣耀，也为了表明我们的乐意之心。我们这样谨慎，免得有人在我们所经手的这丰厚之事上挑剔我们，因为我们不仅要敬重主看为美善的事，也要敬重人看为美善的事。我们还打发了另一位弟兄和他们一起去。我们在很多事上多次验证过这位弟兄是殷勤的，而现在他因为深深地信任你们，就更加殷勤了。论到提多，他是我的同伴，也是为着你们的同工。至于那两位弟兄，他们是各教会的使者，是基督的荣耀。

看哪，你们可以在耶和华和他的受膏者面前指控我：我夺取过谁的牛，夺取过谁的驴子？我欺压过谁，压榨过谁？又从谁的手中收取过贿赂，以致我的眼睛被蒙住了？如果是这样，我必归还你们。”他们说：“你没有欺压过我们，没有压榨过我们，也没有从任何人手中收取过什么。”

我没有渴望过任何人的金子、银子或衣服。你们自己也知道，我这双手供应了我和与我在一起之人的需要。在一切事上，我都给你们做了榜样：必须这样地劳苦做工来扶助软弱的人，并且要记住主耶稣自己说过的话：‘施比受更加蒙福。’”

我为了基督的福音来到特罗阿斯的时候，虽然主为我开了门，我还是灵里不安，因为我没有见到我的弟兄提多。因此我向那里的人告别，往马其顿省去了。

然而那安慰卑微之人的神，藉着提多的到来安慰了我们；

我在主耶稣里，希望不久能派提摩太到你们那里去，好让我也知道有关你们的事，可以心情愉快。实际上，我没有别的人与我同心，真正地挂虑你们的事；因为大家都寻求自己的事，不寻求耶稣基督的事。但是，你们是知道提摩太那经过考验的品德。因为他在福音工作上与我一起服事，就像儿子与父亲那样。

原来你们是为此蒙召的，因为基督也为你们受了苦害，给你们留下了榜样，好让你们追随他的脚踪。
