我曾慫恿提多至爾處、並遣發一兄弟與之偕、提多曾佔爾便宜乎？吾儕豈非表裏如一、心跡雙清者乎。

I exhorted Titus, and I sent the brother with him. Did Titus take any advantage of you? Didn’t we walk in the same spirit? Didn’t we walk in the same steps?

So we urged Titus that just as he had begun, so he should also complete among you this act of grace.

And he became the father of the circumcised, who are not only circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith our father Abraham had while he was still uncircumcised.

Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, corrupted no one, taken advantage of no one.

Thanks be to God, who put the same concern for you into the heart of Titus.For he welcomed our appeal and, being very diligent, went out to you by his own choice.We have sent with him the brother who is praised among all the churches for his gospel ministry.And not only that, but he was also appointed by the churches to accompany us with this gracious gift that we are administering for the glory of the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help.We are taking this precaution so that no one will criticize us about this large sum that we are administering.Indeed, we are giving careful thought to do what is right, not only before the Lord but also before people.We have also sent with them our brother. We have often tested him in many circumstances and found him to be diligent— and now even more diligent because of his great confidence in you.As for Titus, he is my partner and coworker for you; as for our brothers, they are the messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ.

Then Moses became angry and said to the LORD,“ Don’t respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them or mistreated a single one of them.”

Here I am. Bring charges against me before the LORD and his anointed: Whose ox or donkey have I taken? Who have I wronged or mistreated? Who gave me a bribe to overlook something? I will return it to you.”“ You haven’t wronged us, you haven’t mistreated us, and you haven’t taken anything from anyone,” they responded.

I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing.You yourselves know that I worked with my own hands to support myself and those who are with me.In every way I’ve shown you that it is necessary to help the weak by laboring like this and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, because he said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

When I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, even though the Lord opened a door for me,I had no rest in my spirit because I did not find my brother Titus. Instead, I said good-bye to them and left for Macedonia.

But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the arrival of Titus,

Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon so that I too may be encouraged by news about you.For I have no one else like-minded who will genuinely care about your interests;all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.But you know his proven character, because he has served with me in the gospel ministry like a son with a father.

Furthermore, from the day King Artaxerxes appointed me to be their governor in the land of Judah— from the twentieth year until his thirty-second year, twelve years— I and my associates never ate from the food allotted to the governor.

For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
