Now I am ready to visit you for the third time, and I will not be a burden to you, because what I want is not your possessions but you. After all, children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.

產業為祖父所遺、賢妻為耶和華所賜。

拉結利亞曰、父既鬻我、侵食我值、以我為外人、我於父家、豈尚有嗣業乎。

耶和華錫純嘏於吾主、使之昌大、金銀僕婢、牛羊駝驢、錫予不匱。主母撒拉、年老生子、主以凡所有者、悉付畀之。

如我凡事悅眾、不求益己、乃求益人、使其得救、

勿第求益己、乃求益人、

作善之人、業遺子孫、惡者之財、為義者所得。

人子、當傳我命、責以色列族之牧者曰、主耶和華云、以色列族之牧者、自顧其身、不牧群羊、禍必不遠矣。

我既知此、素欲就爾、令爾復獲益、

余書此、非以愧爾、乃勸爾、如吾愛子、爾宗基督、雖萬師、無多父、我傳基督耶穌福音、以重生爾、

我言不諛、是爾所知、我不外廉而內貪、上帝可鑒、我為基督使徒、得以轄爾、但我不求譽於爾、亦不求譽於人、

我未嘗貪人金銀幣帛、

牧上帝群而督之、非由力所強、乃由心所願、不取不義之利、乃善心樂助、非為上帝民之主、乃立群弟子之範、牧長顯著時、則得大賚、加以冠冕、其榮不敝、

爾知我勸慰、丁寧爾眾、猶父之勵厥子、

蓋我所望、所喜、所詡、若戴冠冕者、何哉、非爾於吾主耶穌基督臨日乎、爾乃我所樂、而以為榮者也、

我欲徑行馬其頓、既經馬其頓、我將至爾、

如主許我、我必速至、第不誇者之言可得而知、且知其能矣、

我戀慕爾、願賜爾、不第上帝福音、乃己生命、以爾為我愛也、

吾將三次至爾、證以二三人之口、而言言有徵、吾先言而再言之、如與爾晤對、惟今暌違、故書達犯罪者、及眾人、余復至時、必不恕之、

我不求贈於人、第求爾結實益繁、

我所愛慕之兄弟、我所欣詡之良朋、我視爾若冕旒、宜宗主堅立、

饑食於室、可也、免聚以取咎、其餘我來命爾、

義者結生命之果、救人者為明哲。
