爾等其注意、我欲第三次就爾、仍不擬增爾負擔。蓋吾所求者爾也、非爾之所有也。且兒女本無積財與父母之義務、惟父母對於兒女則有此義務耳。

No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them:‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?

Because I was confident of this, I wanted to visit you first so that you might benefit twice.

I am writing this not to shame you but to warn you as my dear children.Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed— God is our witness.We were not looking for praise from people, not from you or anyone else, even though as apostles of Christ we could have asserted our authority.

I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing.

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them— not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children,

For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?Indeed, you are our glory and joy.

After I go through Macedonia, I will come to you— for I will be going through Macedonia.

But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have.

so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.

This will be my third visit to you.“ Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”I already gave you a warning when I was with you the second time. I now repeat it while absent: On my return I will not spare those who sinned earlier or any of the others,

Anyone who is hungry should eat something at home, so that when you meet together it may not result in judgment. And when I come I will give further directions.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.
