我因为白白传神的福音给你们，就自居卑微，叫你们高升，这算是我犯罪吗？

我自卑致爾高舉、傳爾上帝福音而無值、乃為罪乎、

我卑以自牧、傳上帝福音、不傷爾財、使爾高舉、是耶否耶、

我傳天主之福音於爾、而不費爾貲、自居卑微、使爾高舉、此為罪乎、

豈因吾之薄於己而厚於爾、乃反獲罪戾乎？

Was it a sin for me to lower myself in order to elevate you by preaching the gospel of God to you free of charge?

I preached God’s good news to you free of charge. When I did that, I was putting myself down in order to lift you up. Was this a sin?

Was I wrong when I humbled myself and honored you by preaching God’s Good News to you without expecting anything in return?

Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?

Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you without charge?

Did I commit sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?

Or did I commit a sin in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I preached to you the gospel of God for nought?

Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?

Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?

Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you could be exalted, because I proclaimed the gospel of God to you free of charge?

Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you God’s Good News free of charge?

For in what were you less favored than the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless,and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure;

For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.

You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me.

Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working for a living?

For I would rather die than have anyone deprive me of my ground for boasting.For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward, but if not of my own will, I am still entrusted with a stewardship.What then is my reward? After this Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.And he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. And he went to see them,and because he was of the same trade he stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.

If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.

nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you.
