If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my weakness.

我若必须自夸，就夸那关乎我软弱的事便了。

If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

If I have to brag, I will brag about the things that show how weak I am.

Actually I should have been commended by you, since I was in no respect inferior to the most eminent apostles, even though I am a nobody.

Boasting is necessary, though it is not beneficial; but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.

It is not good to eat much honey, Nor is it glory to search out one’s own glory.

I also was with you in weakness and fear, and in great trembling,

This is what the Lord says:“ Let no wise man boast of his wisdom, nor let the mighty man boast of his might, nor a rich man boast of his riches;but let the one who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises mercy, justice, and righteousness on the earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.

Again I say, let no one think me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little.What I am saying, I am not saying as the Lord would, but as in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting.Since many boast according to the flesh, I will boast also.

Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am supplementing what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions in behalf of His body, which is the church.
