實際上，就算有人奴役你們，或侵吞你們，或榨取你們，或壓制你們，或打你們的臉，你們也能容忍。

假若有人强你们作奴仆，或侵吞你们，或掳掠你们，或侮慢你们，或打你们的脸，你们都能忍耐他。

若有人役爾、吞爾、刧爾、自驕而慢爾、批爾頰、爾則容之、

人即奴爾、吞爾、盜爾、批爾之頰、妄自尊大、爾且能容忍之；

For you tolerate it if anyone enslaves you, if anyone devours you, if anyone takes advantage of you, if anyone exalts himself, if anyone hits you in the face.

For you put up with it if one brings you into bondage, if one devours you, if one takes from you, if one exalts himself, if one strikes you on the face.

For ye bear with a man, if he bringeth you into bondage, if he devoureth you, if he taketh you captive, if he exalteth himself, if he smiteth you on the face.

其實提到這件事，是因著一些偷偷進來的假弟兄的緣故；他們混進來窺視我們在基督耶穌裡所擁有的自由，為了要奴役我們。

我們也是這樣：我們還是小孩子的時候，在世界的原則下受奴役。

基督釋放了我們，使我們得自由。所以你們當站立得穩，不要再被奴役的軛所束縛。

但如今，你們認識了神——不過更要說，被神所認識——怎麼能再回到那無能、無用的原則裡去呢？你們願意再重新做它們的奴僕嗎？

我們並不是要轄制你們的信仰，而是要做你們的同工，使你們喜樂；因為你們已經因信站立得住了。

有人打你這邊的臉，把另一邊也讓他打；有人拿走你的外衣，連裡衣也不要阻止他拿；

直到現在這時刻，我們還是又飢又渴，衣不蔽體，被人毆打，居無定所，

弟兄們，我勸你們，要留心那些針對你們所受的教導而製造分裂和絆腳石的人。你們要遠離他們。因為這樣的人不是服事我們的主基督，而是服事自己的私慾。他們用花言巧語，欺騙單純人的心。

實際上，我們從來沒有用過諂媚的話，這是你們知道的；也沒有懷著貪婪的居心，這是神可以見證的。

這夏甲是指著阿拉伯的西奈山，相當於現在的耶路撒冷，因為耶路撒冷和她的兒女都是為奴的。

那些想在肉體上體面的，他們才強求你們受割禮，他們只是要避免為基督的十字架受逼迫。

他們的結局就是滅亡；他們的神就是自己的私慾；他們的榮耀在自己的羞恥之中；他們所思想的都是地上的事。

我在主裡深信你們不會有別的思想；不過那攪擾你們的，無論他是誰，都將受到懲罰。

我把我的背脊轉給擊打我的人，把我的臉頰轉給扯我鬍鬚的人；我沒有掩面躲避羞辱和唾沫。
