如果有人奴役你們，侵吞、榨取你們，向你們趾高氣揚，打你們的臉，你們就容忍吧！

假若有人强你们作奴仆，或侵吞你们，或掳掠你们，或侮慢你们，或打你们的脸，你们都能忍耐他。

人若僕爾、噬爾、虜爾、侮爾、批爾、爾則容之、

若人僕爾、啖爾、取爾、自傲而批爾、爾則聽之、

若有人役爾、吞爾、刧爾、自驕而慢爾、批爾頰、爾則容之、

人即奴爾、吞爾、盜爾、批爾之頰、妄自尊大、爾且能容忍之；

In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or puts on airs or slaps you in the face.

這是因為有些混進來的假弟兄，暗暗地來偵查我們在基督耶穌裡享有的自由，為的是要轄制我們。

我們也是這樣，作孩童的時候，被世俗的言論所奴役；

基督釋放了我們，為了要使我們得自由。所以你們要站立得穩，不要再被奴役的軛控制。

現在你們既然認識神，更可以說是神所認識的，怎麼還回到那些軟弱貧乏的言論，情願再作它們的奴僕呢？

我們並不是要轄制你們的信仰，而是要作你們的同工，使你們喜樂，因為你們在信仰上已經站穩了。

有人打你一邊的臉，把另一邊也轉給他打；有人拿你的外衣，連內衣也讓他拿去。

直到現在，我們還是又飢又渴，衣不蔽體，又挨打，又沒有棲身的地方，

弟兄們，我勸你們要提防那些離間你們、絆倒你們、使你們違反你們所學的教義的人。你們也要避開他們，因為這樣的人不服事我們的主基督，只服事自己的肚腹，用花言巧語欺騙老實人的心。

我們從來不說奉承的話，這是你們知道的，神可以作證，我們並沒有藉故起貪心，

這夏甲是指著阿拉伯的西奈山，相當於現在的耶路撒冷，她和她的兒女都是作奴僕的。

他要讓人打他的臉頰，要飽受凌辱。

那些在外表上要體面的人，他們勉強你們受割禮，不過是怕為了基督的十字架受迫害。
