蓋我為天主之故、熱中於爾、甚至有患得患失之情緒。吾既將爾許配良人、固願爾好自保持貞節、克配基督。

My jealousy for you comes from God himself. I promised to give you to only one husband. That husband is Christ. I wanted to be able to give you to him as if you were a pure virgin.

For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.

So she took her veil and covered herself.Then the servant told Isaac all he had done.Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.
