我为你们起的愤恨，原是神那样的愤恨。因为我曾把你们许配一个丈夫，要把你们如同贞洁的童女，献给基督。

我以上帝嫉妒的爱来爱你们，因为我曾把你们许配给一个丈夫，要把你们如同贞洁的童女献给基督。

我要求你们忠贞不渝，正如上帝要求祂的子民忠贞不渝一样。因为我曾把你们当作贞洁的少女许配给一位丈夫——基督。

我以神的热爱爱你们，因为我把你们献给基督，好像把贞洁的童女许配给一个丈夫。

我以神的热心热爱你们，因为我已经把你们许配给一位丈夫，做为贞洁的童女献给基督。

我念上帝、熱中戀慕爾、我已聘爾、如貞女獻一夫、即基督、

我事天主以熱心、亦為爾如此熱心、蓋我已為一夫聘爾、將爾如貞潔童女、獻於基督、

蓋我為天主之故、熱中於爾、甚至有患得患失之情緒。吾既將爾許配良人、固願爾好自保持貞節、克配基督。

I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.

My jealousy for you comes from God himself. I promised to give you to only one husband. That husband is Christ. I wanted to be able to give you to him as if you were a pure virgin.

For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.

For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband— Christ.

For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy, because I have promised you in marriage to one husband— to present a pure virgin to Christ.

We proclaim Him, admonishing every person and teaching every person with all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Christ.

He who has the bride is the groom; but the friend of the groom, who stands and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the groom’s voice. So this joy of mine has been made full.

For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

Listen, daughter, look and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father’s house;Then the King will crave your beauty. Because He is your Lord, bow down to Him.

knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus, and will present us with you.

Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his household who was in charge of all that he owned,“ Please place your hand under my thigh,and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I live;but you will go to my country and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac.”The servant said to him,“ Suppose the woman is not willing to follow me to this land; should I take your son back to the land from where you came?”

For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you also were put to death in regard to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

Then they called Rebekah and said to her,“ Will you go with this man?” And she said,“ I will go.”So they sent away their sister Rebekah and her nurse with Abraham’s servant and his men.And they blessed Rebekah and said to her,“ May you, our sister, Become thousands of ten thousands, And may your descendants possess The gate of those who hate them.”Then Rebekah got up with her female attendants, and they mounted the camels and followed the man. So the servant took Rebekah and departed.Now Isaac had come back from a journey to Beer lahai roi; for he was living in the Negev.Isaac went out to meditate in the field toward evening; and he raised his eyes and looked, and behold, camels were coming.Rebekah raised her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she dismounted from the camel.She said to the servant,“ Who is that man walking in the field to meet us?” And the servant said,“ He is my master.” Then she took her veil and covered herself.The servant told Isaac all the things that he had done.Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and he took Rebekah, and she became his wife, and he loved her; so Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

I fear for you, that perhaps I have labored over you in vain.

just as you know how we were exhorting and encouraging and imploring each one of you as a father would his own children,
