Since many are boasting in the way the world does, I too will boast.

既有好些人凭着血气自夸，我也要自夸了。

既然有好些人凭着血气在夸口，我也要夸口了。

既然有好些人凭着血气在夸口，我也要夸口了。

既然许多人凭血气夸口，我当然也可以夸口。

既然有许多人按着世俗的标准夸口，我也要夸口。

既然有许多人按人的标准自夸，我也要自夸了，

既有好些人憑着血氣自誇，我也要自誇了。

既然有好些人憑着血氣在誇口，我也要誇口了。

既然有好些人憑着血氣在誇口，我也要誇口了。

既然許多人憑血氣誇口，我當然也可以誇口。

既然有許多人按著世俗的標準誇口，我也要誇口。

既有許多人以屬肉體之事而誇口，我也要誇口。

既然有許多人按人的標準自誇，我也要自誇了，

既多有依形軀而誇者、則我亦誇矣、

如眾以外貌自詡、則吾亦可自詡、

有多人以外貌自誇、則我亦自誇、

方今以身世自誇者多矣、吾亦欲一誇焉。

Many are bragging the way the people of the world do. So I will brag like that too.

Since many boast according to the flesh, I too will boast.

And since others boast about their human achievements, I will, too.

Since many boast according to the flesh, I will also boast.

Since many boast according to the flesh, I will boast also.

Seeing that many boast according to the flesh, I also will boast.

Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

Since many boast in an unspiritual way, I will also boast.

Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

Since many are boasting according to human standards, I too will boast.

Seeing that many boast after the flesh, I will also boast.

I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses.Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say,

We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the sphere of service God himself has assigned to us, a sphere that also includes you.We are not going too far in our boasting, as would be the case if we had not come to you, for we did get as far as you with the gospel of Christ.Neither do we go beyond our limits by boasting of work done by others. Our hope is that, as your faith continues to grow, our sphere of activity among you will greatly expand,so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you. For we do not want to boast about work already done in someone else’s territory.But,“ Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about.

For,“ All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall,

For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh—though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:

I have made a fool of myself, but you drove me to it. I ought to have been commended by you, for I am not in the least inferior to the“ super-apostles,” even though I am nothing.

To my shame I admit that we were too weak for that! Whatever anyone else dares to boast about— I am speaking as a fool— I also dare to boast about.Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they Abraham’s descendants? So am I.Are they servants of Christ?( I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again.

But he said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

This is what the Lord says:“ Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.

We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!
