That which I speak, I speak[ it] not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

我現在所說的，不是按照主說的，而是像一個愚妄人那樣自信誇耀。

此言、非主命也、乃若愚者自信而誇、

余今所言、非主命也、乃若狂而大詡、

今我所言、非按主命而言、乃似狂者、大膽自誇、

惟須預為聲明者、吾今之所言、非依主之道、乃一發心中之狂愚、故姑妄言之耳。

In this self-confident boasting I am not talking as the Lord would, but as a fool.

When I brag about myself like this, I’m not talking the way the Lord would. I’m talking like a fool.

What I am saying with this boastful confidence, I say not as the Lord would but as a fool.

Such boasting is not from the Lord, but I am acting like a fool.

What I am saying in this matter of boasting, I don’t speak as the Lord would, but as it were, foolishly.

What I am saying, I am not saying as the Lord would, but as in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting.

What I speak, I speak not according to the Lord, but as it were, foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we( that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.

Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.

But I speak this by permission,[ and] not of commandment.

Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye[ yourselves] are wise.For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour[ you], if a man take[ of you], if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold,( I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.Are they Hebrews? so[ am] I. Are they Israelites? so[ am] I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so[ am] I.Are they ministers of Christ?( I speak as a fool) I[ am] more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.Of the Jews five times received I forty[ stripes] save one.Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;[ In] journeyings often,[ in] perils of waters,[ in] perils of robbers,[ in] perils by[ mine own] countrymen,[ in] perils by the heathen,[ in] perils in the city,[ in] perils in the wilderness,[ in] perils in the sea,[ in] perils among false brethren;In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
