If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it too much if we reap material benefits from you?

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own authority. My people love it like this. But what will you do at the end of it?

It deceives those who live on the earth because of the signs that it is permitted to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who live on the earth to make an image of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

The LORD did not send you, but you have led these people to trust in a lie.Therefore, this is what the LORD says:‘ I am about to send you off the face of the earth. You will die this year because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.’”And the prophet Hananiah died that year in the seventh month.

But his servants approached and said to him,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more should you do it when he only tells you,‘ Wash and be clean’?”

He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it so that he would no longer deceive the nations until the thousand years were completed. Torrential rain will come, and I will send hailstones plunging down, and a whirlwind will be released.When the wall has fallen, will you not be asked,“ Where’s the whitewash you plastered on it?”“‘ So this is what the Lord GOD says: I will release a whirlwind in my wrath. Torrential rain will come in my anger, and hailstones will fall in destructive fury.I will demolish the wall you plastered with whitewash and knock it to the ground so that its foundation is exposed. The city will fall, and you will be destroyed within it. Then you will know that I am the LORD.After I exhaust my wrath against the wall and against those who plaster it with whitewash, I will say to you,“ The wall is no more and neither are those who plastered it—

and said,“ You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery, you son of the devil and enemy of all that is right. Won’t you ever stop perverting the straight paths of the Lord?

They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. They consider it a pleasure to carouse in broad daylight. They are spots and blemishes, delighting in their deceptions while they feast with you.They have eyes full of adultery that never stop looking for sin. They seduce unstable people and have hearts trained in greed. Children under a curse!They have gone astray by abandoning the straight path and have followed the path of Balaam, the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of wickednessbut received a rebuke for his lawlessness: A speechless donkey spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.These people are springs without water, mists driven by a storm. The gloom of darkness has been reserved for them.For by uttering boastful, empty words, they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped from those who live in error.They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them.For if, having escaped the world’s impurity through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first.For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them.It has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to its own vomit, and,“ A washed sow returns to wallowing in the mud.”

Are they servants of Christ? I’m talking like a madman— I’m a better one: with far more labors, many more imprisonments, far worse beatings, many times near death.

“ Be on your guard against false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

They will exploit you in their greed with made-up stories. Their condemnation, pronounced long ago, is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.

and then the lawless one will be revealed. The Lord Jesus will destroy him with the breath of his mouth and will bring him to nothing at the appearance of his coming.The coming of the lawless one is based on Satan’s working, with every kind of miracle, both signs and wonders serving the lie,and with every wicked deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved.For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie,so that all will be condemned— those who did not believe the truth but delighted in unrighteousness.

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, a curse be on him!As we have said before, I now say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, a curse be on him!

this is what the LORD says: I am about to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. There will not be even one of his descendants living among these people, nor will any ever see the good that I will bring to my people— this is the LORD’s declaration— for he has preached rebellion against the LORD.’”

When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prisonand will go out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle. Their number is like the sand of the sea.They came up across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the encampment of the saints, the beloved city. Then fire came down from heaven and consumed them.The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

But these people blaspheme anything they do not understand. And what they do understand by instinct— like irrational animals— by these things they are destroyed.Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, have plunged into Balaam’s error for profit, and have perished in Korah’s rebellion.These people are dangerous reefs at your love feasts as they eat with you without reverence. They are shepherds who only look after themselves. They are waterless clouds carried along by winds; trees in late autumn— fruitless, twice dead and uprooted.They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shameful deeds; wandering stars for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever.
