And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about.

And I will keep on doing what I’m doing. That will stop those who claim they have things to brag about. They think they have a chance to be considered equal with us.

And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do.

But I will continue doing what I have always done. This will undercut those who are looking for an opportunity to boast that their work is just like ours.

But I will continue to do what I am doing, in order to deny an opportunity to those who want to be regarded as our equals in what they boast about.

But what I am doing I will also continue to do, so that I may eliminate the opportunity from those who want an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting.

but there isn’t another“ good news.” Only there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the Good News of Christ.

But“ he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”

For we are not commending ourselves to you again, but speak as giving you occasion of boasting on our behalf, that you may have something to answer those who boast in appearance, and not in heart.

Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.For I know that this will turn out to my salvation, through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don’t know what I will choose.But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.Yet to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,that your rejoicing may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.Only let your way of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

For even they who receive circumcision don’t keep the law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised, that they may boast in your flesh.But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting.
