舉凡計謀及矜高、阻人識上帝者、我悉敗之、虜諸心志、降服基督、

舉凡計謀、驕態、矜高、逆上帝道者、悉敗之、而以其心歸服基督、

凡諸計謀、諸傲慢、自高而逆天主道者、悉敗之、且以人之心志奪回、或作且擄人之心志使服基督、

凡妄自尊大之幻想、違抗天主聖道之妄念、皆在摧毀之列；務使一思一念、順服基督而後已。

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

I destroy every claim and every reason that keeps people from knowing God. I keep every thought under control in order to make it obey Christ.

We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

and every high-minded thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive to obey Christ.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.

The haughty looks of man shall be brought low, and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up— and it shall be brought low;

For it is written,“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, but gracious words are pure.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.

In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are,“ There is no God.”

And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the Lord; I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.”

though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more:circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee;as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless.But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christand be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—

The devising of folly is sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to mankind.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.

But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.

By their approval of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others,

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.

For you save a humble people, but the haughty eyes you bring down.
