蓋我儕之戰具、非屬血氣、乃賴天主、有力能破諸堅壘、

因吾人作戰之武器、非屬形而下者、顧賴主之力其效能則足以掃蕩一切險固之壁壘。

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

The weapons I fight with are not the weapons the world uses. In fact, it is just the opposite. My weapons have the power of God to destroy the camps of the enemy.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.

But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that the extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.

But since we are of the day, we must stay sober by putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet our hope for salvation.

He gave them all trumpets and empty jars with torches inside them.He said to them,“ Watch me and do as I do. Watch closely! I am going to the edge of the camp. Do as I do!When I and all who are with me blow our trumpets, you also blow your trumpets all around the camp. Then say,‘ For the LORD and for Gideon!’”Gideon took a hundred men to the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after they had changed the guards. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars they were carrying.All three units blew their trumpets and broke their jars. They held the torches in their left hand and the trumpets in their right. Then they yelled,“ A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!”They stood in order all around the camp. The whole army ran away; they shouted as they scrambled away.When the three hundred men blew their trumpets, the LORD caused the Midianites to attack one another with their swords throughout the camp. The army fled to Beth Shittah on the way to Zererah. They went to the border of Abel Meholah near Tabbath.Israelites from Naphtali, Asher, and Manasseh answered the call and chased the Midianites.

The LORD extends your dominion from Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies!

Take your share of suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

Because of this I am writing these things while absent, so that when I arrive I may not have to deal harshly with you by using my authority– the Lord gave it to me for building up, not for tearing down!

Who ever serves in the army at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not consume its milk?

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.For it is written,“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent.”Where is the wise man? Where is the expert in the Mosaic law? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish?For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom,but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
