I ask that when I am present I need not be bold with the confidence with which I intend to be courageous against some, who regard us as if we walked according to the flesh.

I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world.

I am coming to see you. Please don’t make me be as bold as I expect to be toward some people. They think that I live the way the people of this world live.

I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of walking according to the flesh.

Well, I am begging you now so that when I come I won’t have to be bold with those who think we act from human motives.

I beg you that when I am present I will not need to be bold with the confidence by which I plan to challenge certain people who think we are living according to the flesh.

But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

yea, I beseech you, that I may not when present show courage with the confidence wherewith I count to be bold against some, who count of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

I beg you that when I am present I will not need to be bold with the confidence by which I plan to challenge certain people who think we are behaving in an unspiritual way.

But I beseech[ you], that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

now I ask that when I am present I may not have to be bold with the confidence that( I expect) I will dare to use against some who consider us to be behaving according to human standards.

Yes, I beg you that I may not, when present, show courage with the confidence with which I intend to be bold against some, who consider us to be walking according to the flesh.

For this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present I need not use severity, in accordance with the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

I have previously said when I was present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have sinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that if I come again I will not spare anyone,

in which you previously walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.Among them we too all previously lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the rest.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want.But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior,idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions,envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self control; against such things there is no law.Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well.

For in what respect were you treated as inferior to the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not become a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!Here for this third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I do not seek what is yours, but you; for children are not responsible to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.I will most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?But be that as it may, I did not burden you myself; nevertheless, devious person that I am, I took you in by deceit.Certainly I have not taken advantage of you through any of those whom I have sent to you, have I?I urged Titus to go, and I sent the brother with him. Actually, it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ; and all for building you up, beloved.For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish, and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, selfishness, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances;

Now some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you.But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant, but their power.For the kingdom of God is not in words, but in power.What do you desire? That I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness?

and when I was present with you and was in need, I was not a burden to anyone; for when the brothers came from Macedonia they fully supplied my need, and in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and will continue to do so.As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia.Why? Because I do not love you? God knows that I do!But what I am doing I will also continue to do, so that I may eliminate the opportunity from those who want an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting.For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus.

For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
