We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the sphere of service God himself has assigned to us, a sphere that also includes you.

But I won’t brag more than I should. God himself has given me an opportunity for serving. I will only brag about what I have done with that opportunity. This opportunity for serving also includes you.

But we will not boast beyond limits, but will boast only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you.

我藉所蒙之恩、告爾眾、心勿高、度順理、勿過乎上帝所賦之信、

蓋余治爾、不逾乎分、乃傳基督福音及爾焉、或無誇過分之事、他人之功、所望爾信主日篤、使我之分益廣、

我則曰、以色列民、豈未聞乎是也、蓋傳聞遍於宇內、言語至於地極矣、

言欲予人而不予、猶風起雲布、而雨不下。
