We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the sphere of service God himself has assigned to us, a sphere that also includes you.

But I won’t brag more than I should. God himself has given me an opportunity for serving. I will only brag about what I have done with that opportunity. This opportunity for serving also includes you.

他按照各人的才幹，一個給三萬個銀幣，一個給一萬二千個銀幣，一個給六千個銀幣﹙原文作“五個，二個，一個他連得”；一個他連得等於六千個銀幣。﹚，然後就遠行去了。

我們各人蒙恩，是照著基督量給我們的恩賜。

我憑著所賜給我的恩典，對你們各人說，不可自視太高，高於所當看的，反而應該照著神分給各人信心的大小，看得適中。

如果我們沒有到過你們那裡，現在就自誇得過分了；但事實上，我們早就把基督的福音傳到你們那裡了。我們並沒有越過範圍，拿別人的勞苦來誇口。我們盼望隨著你們信心的增長，我們的界限就因你們而大大擴展，

但是我要說，他們沒有聽見嗎？他們的確聽見了，如經上所記：“他們的聲音傳遍全地，他們的言語傳到地極。”

空誇送禮卻沒有實行的人，就像無雨的風雲。

它們的聲音（按照《馬索拉文本》，“聲音”作“準繩”；現參照《七十士譯本》等古譯本翻譯）傳遍全地，它們的言語傳到地極，神在它們中間為太陽安設帳幕。
