For[ his] letters, say they,[ are] weighty and powerful; but[ his] bodily presence[ is] weak, and[ his] speech contemptible.

因為有人說：「他信上的語氣既嚴厲又強硬，他本人卻軟弱無能，言語粗俗。」

因為有人說：「他信上的語氣既嚴厲又強硬，他本人卻軟弱無能，言語粗俗。」

因為有人說：「他信中的話有分量，很嚴厲，他本人卻軟弱無能，言語粗俗。」

因為有人說：“他的信又嚴厲又強硬，他本人卻其貌不揚，言語粗俗。”

因為有人說：「論他的書信倒有重量有魄力；及至身臨面對、卻是軟弱無力，說話又平淡可鄙」。

因為有人說：「保羅的書信又嚴厲又強硬，但他親身在的時候卻是軟弱的人，他的言語也被藐視。」

或謂我書嚴厲、晤對時則身柔言鄙、

有言我書嚴厲、及晤對時、身柔言鄙、

有人言、我書嚴厲、及至晤會時、身弱言陋、

頗聞人言：『彼之書札、雖雷厲風行；而彼之形軀、則柔弱無能、言語更無足輕重。』

For some say,“ His letters are weighty and forceful, but in person he is unimpressive and his speaking amounts to nothing.”

Some say,“ His letters sound important. They are powerful. But in person he doesn’t seem like much. And what he says doesn’t amount to anything.”

For they say,“ His letters are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.”

For some say,“ Paul’s letters are demanding and forceful, but in person he is weak, and his speeches are worthless!”

For it is said,“ His letters are weighty and powerful, but his physical presence is weak and his public speaking amounts to nothing.”

For they say,“ His letters are weighty and strong, but his personal presence is unimpressive and his speech contemptible.”

“ For his letters,” they say,“ are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.”

For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.

For it is said,“ His letters are weighty and powerful, but his physical presence is weak, and his public speaking is despicable.”

because some say,“ His letters are weighty and forceful, but his physical presence is weak and his speech is of no account.”

For,“ His letters”, they say,“ are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is despised.”

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God,[ even] as Christ Jesus.

But though[ I be] rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but[ now] I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me[ to be], or[ that] he heareth of me.And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.And my speech and my preaching[ was] not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I[ am] a child.

And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I[ am] not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I[ am] slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence[ am] base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
