因为有人说：“他信中的话有分量，很严厉，他本人却软弱无能，言语粗俗。”

因为有人说：“他的信又沉重又厉害，及至见面，却是气貌不扬，言语粗俗的。”

因为有人说：“他信上的语气既严厉又强硬，他本人却软弱无能，言语粗俗。”

因为有人说：“他信上的语气既严厉又强硬，他本人却软弱无能，言语粗俗。”

因为有人说：“他的信又严厉又强硬，他本人却其貌不扬，言语粗俗。”

因为有人说：“保罗的书信又严厉又强硬，但他亲身在的时候却是软弱的人，他的言语也被藐视。”

因為有人說：「他的信又沉重又厲害，及至見面，卻是氣貌不揚，言語粗俗的。」

因為有人說：「他信上的語氣既嚴厲又強硬，他本人卻軟弱無能，言語粗俗。」

因為有人說：「他信上的語氣既嚴厲又強硬，他本人卻軟弱無能，言語粗俗。」

因為有人說：「他信中的話有分量，很嚴厲，他本人卻軟弱無能，言語粗俗。」

因為有人說：“他的信又嚴厲又強硬，他本人卻其貌不揚，言語粗俗。”

因為有人說：「論他的書信倒有重量有魄力；及至身臨面對、卻是軟弱無力，說話又平淡可鄙」。

因為有人說：「保羅的書信又嚴厲又強硬，但他親身在的時候卻是軟弱的人，他的言語也被藐視。」

或謂我書嚴厲、晤對時則身柔言鄙、

有言我書嚴厲、及晤對時、身柔言鄙、

有人言、我書嚴厲、及至晤會時、身弱言陋、

頗聞人言：『彼之書札、雖雷厲風行；而彼之形軀、則柔弱無能、言語更無足輕重。』

For some say,“ His letters are weighty and forceful, but in person he is unimpressive and his speaking amounts to nothing.”

Some say,“ His letters sound important. They are powerful. But in person he doesn’t seem like much. And what he says doesn’t amount to anything.”

For they say,“ His letters are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.”

For some say,“ Paul’s letters are demanding and forceful, but in person he is weak, and his speeches are worthless!”

For it is said,“ His letters are weighty and powerful, but his physical presence is weak and his public speaking amounts to nothing.”

For they say,“ His letters are weighty and strong, but his personal presence is unimpressive and his speech contemptible.”

“ For his letters,” they say,“ are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.”

For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.

For it is said,“ His letters are weighty and powerful, but his physical presence is weak, and his public speaking is despicable.”

For[ his] letters, say they,[ are] weighty and powerful; but[ his] bodily presence[ is] weak, and[ his] speech contemptible.

because some say,“ His letters are weighty and forceful, but his physical presence is weak and his speech is of no account.”

For,“ His letters”, they say,“ are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is despised.”

基督不是差遣我去为人施洗，而是去传扬福音，而且不用高言大智，免得基督十字架的能力被抹杀。

你们知道，当初是因为我生病才有机会首次向你们传福音。那时，你们虽然因为我生病而受累，却没有轻视我、嫌弃我，反而接待我，就像接待上帝的天使，接待基督耶稣一样。

我虽然不善辞令，但我认识真理。这一点，我在各样的事上已经向你们证明了。

我要为这人夸口。至于我自己，我除了夸耀自己的软弱以外，别无可夸。就算我夸口，也不算狂妄，因为我所说的都是实话。只是我不会这样做，恐怕有人把我看得太高，超过了他对我的所见所闻。为了使我不至于因所受的启示太大而自高，有一根“刺”在我身上，就是有撒旦的爪牙攻击我，免得我骄傲自大。我曾三次祈求主叫这根刺离开我，但祂说：“我的恩典足够你用，因为我的能力在人的软弱上更显得全备。”所以，我更喜欢夸耀自己的软弱，好让基督的能力荫庇我。

弟兄姊妹，我当初到你们那里传扬上帝的奥秘，并没有用高深的言论或哲理。因为我已决定在你们当中不谈别的，只讲耶稣基督和祂被钉十字架的事。那时我在你们当中很软弱，害怕，战战兢兢。我说话、讲道不是靠充满智慧的雄辩之词，而是靠圣灵的能力作明证，

我回答说：“主耶和华啊，我太年轻，不懂得怎样说话。”

摩西对耶和华说：“主啊！我向来不善言辞，即使你对仆人说话以后，我还是不善言辞，因为我是个拙口笨舌的人。”

上帝运用自己的智慧不让世人凭自己的智慧去认识祂，祂乐意采用世人看为愚昧的道理去拯救那些相信的人，这就是上帝的智慧。

你们以为我在你们中间的时候很温和，不在你们中间的时候却很严厉。如今，我保罗以基督的谦卑和温柔亲自劝你们：
