Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you:

我保罗与你们面对面的时候是卑微的，不在你们那里的时候向你们却是大胆的。现在我亲自以基督的温柔与谦和恳求你们：

我保羅、以基督的柔和與溫良、親自勸你們——我，我這個在你們中間和你們面對面時「謙卑（！）」，而不同在時「放膽（！）」的——有人以為我們是憑着肉體行事，我以為我必須以自信之心大膽懲治這種人——我甚至於求你們、不要讓我於和你們同在時有這樣自信之心而放膽。

我保羅與你們面對面的時候是卑微的，不在你們那裡的時候向你們卻是大膽的。現在我親自以基督的溫柔與謙和懇求你們：

我保羅晤對則卑、暌違則勇者、以基督之溫柔和平勸爾、

余保羅、即之也溫、望之儼然、學基督之溫柔寛裕勸爾、

我保羅與爾覿面時為謙卑、與爾相離時為勇敢、我因基督之溫柔寛裕勸爾、

茲者我葆樂本人、欲憑基督之溫柔謙恭、有所求於爾焉。頗聞人言、予與爾相處、晤時則恭、暌時則踞。

By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you— I, Paul, who am“ timid” when face to face with you, but“ bold” toward you when away!

Christ is humble and free of pride. Because of this, I make my appeal to you. I, Paul, am the one you call“ shy” when I am face to face with you. But when I am away from you, you think I am“ bold” toward you.

I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold toward you when I am away!—

Now I, Paul, appeal to you with the gentleness and kindness of Christ— though I realize you think I am timid in person and bold only when I write from far away.

Now I, Paul, myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent.

Now I, Paul, myself urge you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— I who am meek when face to face with you, but bold toward you when absent!

Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

Now I, Paul, make a personal appeal to you by the gentleness and graciousness of Christ— I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent.

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence[ am] base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

Now I, Paul, appeal to you personally by the meekness and gentleness of Christ( I who am meek when present among you, but am full of courage toward you when away!)–

Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Behold, I Paul say unto you, that, if ye receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.

A bruised reed will he not break, and a dimly burning wick will he not quench: he will bring forth justice in truth.He will not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set justice in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy king cometh unto thee; he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,

Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, Meek, and riding upon an ass, And upon a colt the foal of an ass.

But I write the more boldly unto you in some measure, as putting you again in remembrance, because of the grace that was given me of God,

On behalf of such a one will I glory: but on mine own behalf I will not glory, save in my weaknesses.

yea, I beseech you, that I may not when present show courage with the confidence wherewith I count to be bold against some, who count of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand.If any man loveth not the Lord, let him be anathema. Maranatha.

We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.

I John, your brother and partaker with you in the tribulation and kingdom and patience which are in Jesus, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

Now the passage of the scripture which he was reading was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth:

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying on your behalf: I am filled with comfort, I overflow with joy in all our affliction.

The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.

I speak by way of disparagement, as though we had been weak. Yet whereinsoever any is bold( I speak in foolishness), I am bold also.

I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, to them that have sinned heretofore, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;seeing that ye seek a proof of Christ that speaketh in me; who to you- ward is not weak, but is powerful in you:for he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him through the power of God toward you.

And Isaiah is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I became manifest unto them that asked not of me.

And in thy majesty ride on prosperously, Because of truth and meekness and righteousness: And thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

yet for love’s sake I rather beseech, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus:

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor.

who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

And working together with him we entreat also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain

Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,

He shall not strive, nor cry aloud; Neither shall any one hear his voice in the streets.A bruised reed shall he not break, And smoking flax shall he not quench, Till he send forth judgment unto victory.

Ye look at the things that are before your face. If any man trusteth in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again with himself, that, even as he is Christ’s, so also are we.

but ye know that because of an infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you the first time:

And by reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted overmuch, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I should not be exalted overmuch.Concerning this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things that concern my weakness.
