蓋如基督之苦、曾溢於我、我之慰亦由基督而溢也、

我為基督多受苦難、亦賴基督多得安慰、

我既多受基督之苦難、亦賴基督多得安慰、

蓋吾儕固為基督飽嘗苦難、亦因基督而飽領神慰。

For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

We share very much in the sufferings of Christ. So we also share very much in his comfort.

For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.

For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

現在我為你們受苦，倒很快樂；並且為基督的身體，就是為教會，我要在自己的肉身上補滿基督未盡的苦難。

使我認識基督，知道他復活的大能，並且知道和他一同受苦，效法他的死，

我們為基督的緣故成為愚拙的；你們在基督裏倒是聰明的。我們軟弱，你們倒強壯；你們有榮耀，我們倒被藐視。直到如今，我們還是又飢又渴，又赤身露體，又挨打，又到處漂泊，並且勞碌，親手做工；被人咒罵，我們就祝福；被人迫害，我們就忍受；被人毀謗，我們就勸導。直到如今，人還把我們看作世上的污穢，萬物中的渣滓。

所以，在基督裏若有任何勸勉，若有任何愛心的安慰，若有任何聖靈的團契，若有任何慈悲憐憫，

我們身上常帶着耶穌的死，使耶穌的生也在我們身上顯明。因為我們這活着的人常為耶穌被置於死地，使耶穌的生命在我們這必死的人身上顯明出來。

這就是我所切慕、所盼望的：沒有一事能使我羞愧；反倒凡事坦然無懼，無論是生是死，總要讓基督在我身上照常顯大。

他就仆倒在地，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為甚麼迫害我？」

那時，在耶路撒冷有一個人，名叫西面；這人又公義又虔誠，素常盼望以色列的安慰者來到，又有聖靈在他身上。

願我們主耶穌基督自己，和那愛我們、開恩將永遠的安慰及美好的盼望賜給我們的父神，安慰你們的心，並且在一切善行善言上堅固你們！

他們是基督的用人嗎？我說句狂話，我更是。我比他們忍受更多勞苦，坐過更多次監牢，受過無數次的鞭打，常常冒死。我被猶太人鞭打五次，每次四十減去一下；被棍打了三次，被石頭打了一次，遭海難三次，一晝一夜在深海裏掙扎。我又屢次行遠路，遭江河的危險，盜賊的危險，同族人的危險，外族人的危險，城裏的危險，曠野的危險，海中的危險，假弟兄的危險。我勞碌困苦，常常失眠，又飢又渴，忍飢耐寒，赤身露體。除了這些外表的事以外，我還有為眾教會操心的事天天壓在我身上。有誰軟弱，我不軟弱呢？有誰跌倒，我不焦急呢？我若必須誇口，就誇我軟弱的事好了。
