耶和華說：「安慰你們的是我，是我。你為什麼要害怕難逃一死、生命如草芥的世人呢？

願主耶穌基督和愛我們、開恩將永遠的安慰和美好的盼望賜給我們的父上帝，安慰你們的心，使你們在一切善行善言上剛強。

所以，你們要彼此鼓勵、互相造就，正如你們一向所做的。

你們的上帝說：「你們要安慰我的子民。

所以，你們要舉起下垂的手，挺直發酸的腿，

我要求父另外賜一位護慰者給你們，祂要永遠和你們同在。

你是我的藏身之所，你保護我免遭危難，用得勝的凱歌四面環繞我。（細拉）

我要誇耀祂的作為，困苦人聽見必歡欣。讓我們一同頌讚祂的偉大，尊崇祂的名！我向祂禱告，祂便應允我，救我脫離一切恐懼。凡仰望祂的必有榮光，不致蒙羞。我這可憐的人向祂呼求，祂就垂聽，救我脫離一切困境。

到那日，你們必歌唱：「耶和華啊，我要讚美你！你雖然曾向我發怒，但你的怒氣已經止息，你還安慰了我。

敬畏上帝的人啊，你們都來聽吧，我要告訴你們祂為我所做的事。

耶和華說：「看啊，我賜給她的平安如川流不息的江河，使萬國的滾滾財富都歸給她。你們必被她抱在懷中，搖在膝上。母親怎樣撫慰孩子，我也怎樣撫慰你們，使你們在耶路撒冷得到安慰。」你們見到這些事，必滿心歡喜，身體如青草一樣充滿活力。耶和華必向祂的僕人彰顯大能，向祂的仇敵發怒。

但護慰者，就是父為我的名而差來的聖靈，將教導你們一切的事，並使你們想起我對你們說的一切話。

我向你承認自己的罪，不再隱瞞自己的惡。我說：「我要向耶和華認罪。」你就赦免了我。（細拉）

我不會撇下你們為孤兒，我必到你們這裡來。

耶路撒冷的荒場啊，你們要一同歡呼歌唱，因為耶和華安慰了祂的子民，救贖了耶路撒冷。

正如我們多受基督所受的苦楚，也靠基督多得安慰。我們遭受患難，是為了使你們得到安慰和拯救；我們得到安慰，也是為了使你們得到安慰，以便你們能忍受像我們所遭遇的諸般苦難。

我們也因此得到了激勵。令我們更歡喜的是提多也很喜樂，因為他的心從你們那裡得到了安慰。

所以你們要用這些話彼此鼓勵。

我必安慰錫安和錫安所有的荒場，使曠野像伊甸園，使沙漠變成我的園囿，裡面有歡喜、快樂、感謝和歌頌的聲音。

大多數主內的弟兄姊妹看見我為主被囚，信心受到鼓舞，更加放膽無懼地傳揚上帝的道。

他們不再饑渴，也不再被熱風和烈日灼傷，因為憐憫他們的那位必引導他們，領他們到泉水邊。

求你賜下恩待我的憑據，使那些恨我的人見狀就抱愧蒙羞，因為你耶和華幫助我、安慰我。
