Moreover I call God as witness against my soul, that to spare you I came no more to Corinth.

我不復至哥林多、惟因寛容爾曹、我籲天主為我心作證、

吾呼天主為證、吾之所以未來格林多者、乃為爾等着想、不欲予爾等以難堪耳。

I call God as my witness— and I stake my life on it— that it was in order to spare you that I did not return to Corinth.

I call God to be my witness. May he take my life if I’m lying. I wanted to spare you, so I didn’t return to Corinth.

But I call God to witness against me— it was to spare you that I refrained from coming again to Corinth.

Now I call upon God as my witness that I am telling the truth. The reason I didn’t return to Corinth was to spare you from a severe rebuke.

I call on God as a witness, on my life, that it was to spare you that I did not come to Corinth.

But I call God as witness to my soul, that it was to spare you that I did not come again to Corinth.

But I call God for a witness upon my soul, that to spare you I forbare to come unto Corinth.

Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.

Now I appeal to God as my witness, that to spare you I did not come again to Corinth.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers,

What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?

I have told you before, and foretell as if I were present the second time, and now being absent I write to those who have sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare—

Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for edification and not for destruction.

For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness— God is witness.

and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ’s, let him again consider this in himself, that just as he is Christ’s, even so we are Christ’s.For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed—lest I seem to terrify you by letters.“ For his letters,” they say,“ are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.”Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such we will also be in deed when we are present.

Why? Because I do not love you? God knows!

For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.

deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit,

of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

But as God is faithful, our word to you was not Yes and No.
