Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace.

Here is what we take pride in. Our sense of what is right and wrong tells us how we have acted. We have lived with honor and godly honesty. We have depended on God’s grace and not on the world’s wisdom. We lived that way most of all when we were dealing with you.

For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.

We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and especially toward you.

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.

Now looking intently at the Council, Paul said,“ Brothers, I have lived my life with an entirely good conscience before God up to this day.”

but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God.

In view of this I also do my best to maintain a blameless conscience both before God and before other people, always.

But He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold.My foot has held on to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.I have not failed the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you— not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience— through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from a sincere faith.

Therefore let’s celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of mankind, but on the power of God.

I am not saying this as a command, but as proving, through the earnestness of others, the sincerity of your love as well.

For such people are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.For the report of your obedience has reached everyone; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil.

But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

For I am not aware of anything against myself; however I am not vindicated by this, but the one who examines me is the Lord.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

so that you may discover the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ;

Far be it from me that I should declare you right; Until I die, I will not give up my integrity.I have kept hold of my righteousness and will not let it go. My heart does not rebuke any of my days.

Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.

I will most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?But be that as it may, I did not burden you myself; nevertheless, devious person that I am, I took you in by deceit.Certainly I have not taken advantage of you through any of those whom I have sent to you, have I?I urged Titus to go, and I sent the brother with him. Titus did not take any advantage of you, did he? Did we not conduct ourselves in the same spirit and walk in the same steps?All this time you have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who disparage your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.

Therefore, I was not vacillating when I intended to do this, was I? Or what I decide, do I decide according to the flesh, so that with me there will be yes, yes and no, no at the same time?

But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting, but to himself alone, and not to another.

But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says,“ God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

“ Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and do away with the gods which your fathers served beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.

I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying; my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit,

keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme.

I ask that when I am present I need not be bold with the confidence with which I intend to be courageous against some, who regard us as if we walked according to the flesh.For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage battle according to the flesh,for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
