But I didn’t believe their reports until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, I was not even told half of your great wisdom! You far exceed the report I heard.

But I did not believe what they said until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half the greatness of your wisdom was told me; you have far exceeded the report I heard.

But I didn’t believe what people were saying. So I came to see for myself. And now I believe it! You are twice as wise as people say you are. The report I heard doesn’t even begin to tell the whole story about you.

She said to the king,“ The report I heard in my own country about your words and about your wisdom is true.

Emissaries of all peoples, sent by every king on earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to listen to Solomon’s wisdom.

What makes the one you love better than another, most beautiful of women? What makes him better than another, that you would give us this charge?My love is fit and strong, notable among ten thousand.His head is purest gold. His hair is wavy and black as a raven.His eyes are like doves beside flowing streams, washed in milk and set like jewels.His cheeks are like beds of spice, mounds of perfume. His lips are lilies, dripping with flowing myrrh.His arms are rods of gold set with beryl. His body is an ivory panel covered with lapis lazuli.His legs are alabaster pillars set on pedestals of pure gold. His presence is like Lebanon, as majestic as the cedars.His mouth is sweetness. He is absolutely desirable. This is my love, and this is my friend, young women of Jerusalem.

How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you. In the presence of everyone you have acted for those who take refuge in you.

He was wiser than anyone— wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol. His reputation extended to all the surrounding nations.

So the other disciples were telling him,“ We’ve seen the Lord!” But he said to them,“ If I don’t see the mark of the nails in his hands, put my finger into the mark of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will never believe.”A week later his disciples were indoors again, and Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said,“ Peace be with you.”Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here and look at my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Don’t be faithless, but believe.”Thomas responded to him,“ My Lord and my God!”Jesus said,“ Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.”

But I didn’t believe the reports until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, I was not even told half. Your wisdom and prosperity far exceed the report I heard.

But as it is written, What no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived— God has prepared these things for those who love him.

Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when he appears, we will be like him because we will see him as he is.
