So Solomon observed the festival at that time for seven days, and all Israel with him— a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt.

At that time Solomon celebrated the Feast of Booths for seven days. The whole community of Israel was with him. It was a huge crowd. People came from as far away as Lebo Hamath and the Wadi of Egypt.

For the next seven days Solomon and all Israel celebrated the Festival of Shelters. A large congregation had gathered from as far away as Lebo hamath in the north and the Brook of Egypt in the south.

And on the second day were gathered together the heads of fathers’ houses of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to give attention to the words of the law.And they found written in the law, how that Jehovah had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month;and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and branches of wild olive, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the broad place of the water gate, and in the broad place of the gate of Ephraim.And all the assembly of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and dwelt in the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the ordinance.

And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought tribute, and served Solomon all the days of his life.And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and a hundred sheep, besides harts, and gazelles, and roebucks, and fatted fowl.For he had dominion over all the region on this side the River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River: and he had peace on all sides round about him.And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig- tree, from Dan even to Beer- sheba, all the days of Solomon.

And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto Jehovah seven days:and ye shall offer a burnt- offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah; thirteen young bullocks, two rams, fourteen he- lambs a year old; they shall be without blemish;and their meal- offering, fine flour mingled with oil, three tenth parts for every bullock of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth parts for each ram of the two rams,and a tenth part for every lamb of the fourteen lambs;and one he- goat for a sin- offering; besides the continual burnt- offering, the meal- offering thereof, and the drink- offering thereof.And on the second day ye shall offer twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen he- lambs a year old without blemish;and their meal- offering and their drink- offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, according to their number, after the ordinance;and one he- goat for a sin- offering; besides the continual burnt- offering, and the meal- offering thereof, and their drink- offerings.And on the third day eleven bullocks, two rams, fourteen he- lambs a year old without blemish;and their meal- offering and their drink- offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, according to their number, after the ordinance;and one he- goat for a sin- offering; besides the continual burnt- offering, and the meal- offering thereof, and the drink- offering thereof.And on the fourth day ten bullocks, two rams, fourteen he- lambs a year old without blemish;their meal- offering and their drink- offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, according to their number, after the ordinance;and one he- goat for a sin- offering; besides the continual burnt- offering, the meal- offering thereof, and the drink- offering thereof.And on the fifth day nine bullocks, two rams, fourteen he- lambs a year old without blemish;and their meal- offering and their drink- offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, according to their number, after the ordinance;and one he- goat for a sin- offering; besides the continual burnt- offering, and the meal- offering thereof, and the drink- offering thereof.And on the sixth day eight bullocks, two rams, fourteen he- lambs a year old without blemish;and their meal- offering and their drink- offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, according to their number, after the ordinance;and one he- goat for a sin- offering; besides the continual burnt- offering, the meal- offering thereof, and the drink- offerings thereof.And on the seventh day seven bullocks, two rams, fourteen he- lambs a year old without blemish;and their meal- offering and their drink- offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, according to their number, after the ordinance;and one he- goat for a sin- offering; besides the continual burnt- offering, the meal- offering thereof, and the drink- offering thereof.On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no servile work;but ye shall offer a burnt- offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah: one bullock, one ram, seven he- lambs a year old without blemish;their meal- offering and their drink- offerings for the bullock, for the ram, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the ordinance:and one he- goat for a sin- offering; besides the continual burnt- offering, and the meal- offering thereof, and the drink- offering thereof.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Jehovah.On the first day shall be a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work.Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: it is a solemn assembly; ye shall do no servile work.These are the set feasts of Jehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah, a burnt- offering, and a meal- offering, a sacrifice, and drink- offerings, each on its own day;besides the sabbaths of Jehovah, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill- offerings, which ye give unto Jehovah.Howbeit on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruits of the land, ye shall keep the feast of Jehovah seven days: on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.And ye shall take you on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm- trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your God seven days.And ye shall keep it a feast unto Jehovah seven days in the year: it is a statute for ever throughout your generations; ye shall keep it in the seventh month.Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are home- born in Israel shall dwell in booths;that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand.

For, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah, the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of the Arabah.

Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is.Jesus therefore cried in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me.They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come.But of the multitude many believed on him; and they said, When the Christ shall come, will he do more signs than those which this man hath done?The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to take him.Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while am I with you, and I go unto him that sent me.Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, ye cannot come.The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go that we shall not find him? will he go unto the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?What is this word that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come?Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water.But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.

And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great assembly.

Thou shalt keep the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in from thy threshing- floor and from thy winepress:and thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man- servant, and thy maid- servant, and the Levite, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.Seven days shalt thou keep a feast unto Jehovah thy God in the place which Jehovah shall choose; because Jehovah thy God will bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the work of thy hands, and thou shalt be altogether joyful.

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, Jehovah of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.And it shall be, that whoso of all the families of the earth goeth not up unto Jerusalem to worship the King, Jehovah of hosts, upon them there shall be no rain.And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, neither shall it be upon them; there shall be the plague wherewith Jehovah will smite the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

from the Shihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the border of Ekron northward, which is reckoned to the Canaanites; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avvim,on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongeth to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the border of the Amorites;and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baal- gad under mount Hermon unto the entrance of Hamath;
