夜間耶和華向所羅門顯現，對他說：「我已聽了你的禱告，也選擇這地方歸我作獻祭的殿宇。

這時，天上有聲音說：「這是我的愛子，我所喜愛的。」

耶穌回答他們說：「你們拆毀這殿，我三日內要把它重建。」猶太人說：「這殿造了四十六年，你三日內就能重建嗎？」但耶穌所說的殿是指他的身體。

耶和華向撒但說：「撒但哪，耶和華責備你！揀選耶路撒冷的耶和華責備你！這不是從火中抽出來的一根柴嗎？」

因為神本性一切的豐盛都有形有體地居住在基督裏面；

「這是我永遠安歇之所；我要住在這地方，因為我願意在這裏。

願你的眼目晝夜看顧這殿，就是你應許立為你名的居所；求你垂聽禱告，你僕人向此處的禱告。

他在耶和華殿中築壇，耶和華曾指着這殿說：「我的名必永遠在耶路撒冷。」他在耶和華殿的兩個院子為天上的萬象築壇，並在欣嫩子谷使他的兒子經火，又觀星象，行法術，行邪術，求問招魂的和行巫術的，多行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，惹他發怒。他在神殿內立雕刻的偶像；神曾對大衛和他兒子所羅門說：「我在以色列眾支派中所選擇的耶路撒冷和這殿，必立我的名，直到永遠。

耶和華－你神選擇立他名的地方若離你太遠，你可以照我所吩咐的，將耶和華賜給你的牛羊取些宰了，隨心所欲在你的城裏吃。

他又把自己所造的亞舍拉雕像立在殿內，耶和華曾對大衛和他兒子所羅門說：「我在以色列眾支派中所選擇的耶路撒冷和這殿，必立我的名，直到永遠。只要以色列人謹守遵行我一切所吩咐的和我僕人摩西所吩咐的一切律法，我就不再使他們的腳挪移，離開我所賜給他們列祖之地。」

他們若在擄他們的仇敵之地盡心盡性歸向你，又向自己的地，就是你賜給他們列祖的地和你所選擇的城，以及我為你名所建造的這殿禱告，

「你的百姓若得罪了你，你使天閉塞不下雨；他們若向此處禱告，宣認你的名，因你的懲罰而離開他們的罪，

你和你的兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人、在你中間寄居的和孤兒寡婦，都要在那裏，耶和華－你神選擇作為他名居所的地方，在耶和華－你神面前歡樂。

「你的百姓若奉你的派遣出去，無論往何處與仇敵爭戰，他們若向耶和華所選擇的城，以及我為你名所建造的這殿禱告，

他在耶和華殿中築壇，耶和華曾指着這殿說：「我必立我的名在耶路撒冷。」
