If I shut the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the grasshopper to consume the land, or if I send pestilence on my people,

我若將天抑制住、使它沒有雨水，我若吩咐蚱蜢來喫這地的物產，或是打發瘟疫到我人民中間；

若我使天閉塞不雨、或使蝻蝗食其土產、或使疫癘行於我民、

如我使天閉塞、雨澤不降、或使蝗蟲食其土產、或使瘟疫、流於民間、

如我使天閉塞而不降雨、或使蝗蝻食土產、或使疫癘流行我民中、

“ When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,

“ Suppose I close up the sky and there isn’t any rain. Suppose I command locusts to eat up the crops. And I send a plague among my people.

When the skies are shut and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, and they pray toward this place and praise your name, and they turn from their sins because you are afflicting them,may you hear in heaven and forgive the sin of your servants and your people Israel, so that you may teach them the good way they should walk in. May you send rain on your land that you gave your people for an inheritance.When there is famine in the land, when there is pestilence, when there is blight or mildew, locust or grasshopper, when their enemies besiege them in the land and its cities, when there is any plague or illness,

Then the LORD’s anger will burn against you. He will shut the sky, and there will be no rain; the land will not yield its produce, and you will perish quickly from the good land the LORD is giving you.

They have authority to close up the sky so that it does not rain during the days of their prophecy. They also have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every plague whenever they want.

But if you refuse to let my people go, then tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory.They will cover the surface of the land so that no one will be able to see the land. They will eat the remainder left to you that escaped the hail; they will eat every tree you have growing in the fields.They will fill your houses, all your officials’ houses, and the houses of all the Egyptians— something your fathers and grandfathers never saw since the time they occupied the land until today.” Then he turned and left Pharaoh’s presence.

“ Write to the angel of the church in Philadelphia: Thus says the Holy One, the true one, the one who has the key of David, who opens and no one will close, and who closes and no one opens:

So Gad went to David, told him the choices, and asked him,“ Do you want three years of famine to come on your land, to flee from your foes three months while they pursue you, or to have a plague in your land three days? I will repay you for the years that the swarming locust ate, the young locust, the destroying locust, and the devouring locust— my great army that I sent against you.

and fruitful land into salty wasteland, because of the wickedness of its inhabitants.

He spoke, and locusts came— young locusts without number.

I will strike them with a plague and destroy them. Then I will make you into a greater and mightier nation than they are.”

Then Moses told Aaron,“ Take your firepan, place fire from the altar in it, and add incense. Go quickly to the community and make atonement for them, because wrath has come from the LORD; the plague has begun.”So Aaron took his firepan as Moses had ordered, ran into the middle of the assembly, and saw that the plague had begun among the people. After he added incense, he made atonement for the people.

If he passes by and throws someone in prison or convenes a court, who can stop him?

What the devouring locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten; what the swarming locust has left, the young locust has eaten; and what the young locust has left, the destroying locust has eaten.Wake up, you drunkards, and weep; wail, all you wine drinkers, because of the sweet wine, for it has been taken from your mouth.For a nation has invaded my land, powerful and without number; its teeth are the teeth of a lion, and it has the fangs of a lioness.It has devastated my grapevine and splintered my fig tree. It has stripped off its bark and thrown it away; its branches have turned white.

Whatever he tears down cannot be rebuilt; whoever he imprisons cannot be released.

“ Or suppose I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath on it with bloodshed to wipe out both people and animals from it.Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live”— the declaration of the Lord GOD—“ they could not rescue their son or daughter. They would rescue only themselves by their righteousness.“ For this is what the Lord GOD says: How much worse will it be when I send my four devastating judgments against Jerusalem— sword, famine, dangerous animals, and plague— in order to wipe out both people and animals from it!

But I say to you, there were certainly many widows in Israel in Elijah’s days, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months while a great famine came over all the land.
