在敵人虜者之地、一心一意歸爾、向其故土、爾所賜其列祖者、與爾所簡之邑、及我為爾名所建之室祈禱、

一心一意、歸向乎爾、望爾所賜列祖之故土、及爾所簡之邑垣、與我所建之殿、為籲名之所、祈求於爾、

如在敵人擄之之地、盡心盡意歸向主、向其故土、即主所賜其列祖之地、與主所選之邑、及我為主名所建之殿、祈禱於主、

and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name;

And they turn back to you with all their heart and soul. Suppose it happens in the land where they were taken as prisoners. There they pray toward the land you gave their people long ago. They pray toward the city you have chosen. And they pray toward the temple I’ve built for your Name.

然而你們現在要禁食，哭泣，哀號，一心歸向我。這是耶和華說的。你們要撕裂心腸，不要撕裂衣服。歸向耶和華－你們的神，因為他有恩惠，有憐憫，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且會改變心意，不降那災難。

我面向主神，禁食，披麻蒙灰，懇切禱告祈求。我向耶和華－我的神祈禱、認罪，說：「主啊，你是大而可畏的神，向愛主、守主誡命的人守約施慈愛。

你們呼求我，向我禱告，我就應允你們。你們尋求我，若專心尋求我，就必尋見。我必被你們尋見，也必使你們被擄的人歸回。這是耶和華說的。我必將你們從各國和我趕你們到的各處召集過來，又將你們帶回我使你們被擄離開的地方。這是耶和華說的。

但以理知道這文件已經簽署，就進自己的家，他家樓上的窗戶開向耶路撒冷。他一天三次，雙膝跪着，在他的神面前禱告感謝，像平常一樣。

你和你的子孫若盡心盡性歸向耶和華－你的神，照我今日一切所吩咐你的，聽從他的話，耶和華－你的神就必憐憫你，使你這被擄的子民歸回。耶和華－你的神必轉回，從分散你到的萬民中把你召集回來。你就是被趕逐到天涯，耶和華－你的神也必從那裏召集你，從那裏領你回來。耶和華－你的神必領你進入你列祖所得的地，你必得着這地為業。他必善待你，使你增多，勝過你的列祖。耶和華－你的神要使你的心和你後裔的心受割禮，好叫你盡心盡性愛耶和華－你的神，使你可以存活。

所以耶和華使亞述王的將領來攻擊他們，用手銬銬住瑪拿西，用銅鏈鎖住他，把他帶到巴比倫去。他在急難的時候懇求耶和華－他的神，並在他列祖的神面前極其謙卑。他祈禱耶和華，耶和華就應允他，垂聽他的禱告，使他歸回耶路撒冷，仍坐王位。瑪拿西這才知道惟獨耶和華是神。
