在敵人虜者之地、一心一意歸爾、向其故土、爾所賜其列祖者、與爾所簡之邑、及我為爾名所建之室祈禱、

一心一意、歸向乎爾、望爾所賜列祖之故土、及爾所簡之邑垣、與我所建之殿、為籲名之所、祈求於爾、

如在敵人擄之之地、盡心盡意歸向主、向其故土、即主所賜其列祖之地、與主所選之邑、及我為主名所建之殿、祈禱於主、

and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name;

然而你们现在要禁食，哭泣，哀号，一心归向我。这是耶和华说的。你们要撕裂心肠，不要撕裂衣服。归向耶和华—你们的神，因为他有恩惠，有怜悯，不轻易发怒，有丰盛的慈爱，并且会改变心意，不降那灾难。

你们呼求我，向我祷告，我就应允你们。你们寻求我，若专心寻求我，就必寻见。我必被你们寻见，也必使你们被掳的人归回。这是耶和华说的。我必将你们从各国和我赶你们到的各处召集过来，又将你们带回我使你们被掳离开的地方。这是耶和华说的。

但以理知道这文件已经签署，就进自己的家，他家楼上的窗户开向耶路撒冷。他一天三次，双膝跪着，在他的神面前祷告感谢，像平常一样。

你和你的子孙若尽心尽性归向耶和华—你的神，照我今日一切所吩咐你的，听从他的话，耶和华—你的神就必怜悯你，使你这被掳的子民归回。耶和华—你的神必转回，从分散你到的万民中把你召集回来。你就是被赶逐到天涯，耶和华—你的神也必从那里召集你，从那里领你回来。耶和华—你的神必领你进入你列祖所得的地，你必得着这地为业。他必善待你，使你增多，胜过你的列祖。耶和华—你的神要使你的心和你后裔的心受割礼，好叫你尽心尽性爱耶和华—你的神，使你可以存活。

所以耶和华使亚述王的将领来攻击他们，用手铐铐住玛拿西，用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。他在急难的时候恳求耶和华—他的神，并在他列祖的神面前极其谦卑。他祈祷耶和华，耶和华就应允他，垂听他的祷告，使他归回耶路撒冷，仍坐王位。玛拿西这才知道惟独耶和华是神。
