and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name;

And they turn back to you with all their heart and soul. Suppose it happens in the land where they were taken as prisoners. There they pray toward the land you gave their people long ago. They pray toward the city you have chosen. And they pray toward the temple I’ve built for your Name.

耶和华说：“现在虽然如此，你们仍要全心全意，以禁食、哭泣、哀号，归向我。”你们要撕裂你们的心肠，不要撕裂你们的衣服。并要归向耶和华你们的神，因为他有恩典有怜悯，不轻易发怒，并且有丰盛的慈爱，随时转意不降灾祸。

于是我转向主神，禁食，披麻蒙灰，藉祈祷和恳求寻求他。我向耶和华我的神祷告、认罪，说：“主啊！伟大可畏的神，你向那些爱你（“你”原文作“他”），遵守你（“你”原文作“他”）诫命的人守约施慈爱。

‘你们要呼求我，要来向我祷告，我就必应允你们。你们要寻找我，只要一心寻求，就必寻见。我必给你们寻见（这是耶和华的宣告）；我必使你们被掳的归回，从我赶逐你们去的各国各地，把你们集合起来，带回我掳你们离开的地方去。’这是耶和华的宣告。

但以理知道这文告签署了以后，就上到自己家里楼顶上的房间，这房间的窗户朝向耶路撒冷开着；他一日三次双膝跪下，在他的神面前祷告称谢，像往日一样。

你和你的子孙必一心一意归向耶和华你的神，照着我今日吩咐你的一切听从他的话。那时，耶和华你的神就必使你这被掳的人回归，他必怜悯你；耶和华你的神必从你被分散到的万民中，把你再召集回来。你被赶逐的人，就是在天涯海角，耶和华你的神也必从那里把你召集回来，从那里把你带回。耶和华你的神必领你进入你列祖所得之地，使你可以得着这地；他必善待你，他也必使你的人数增多，胜过你的列祖。耶和华你的神必把你心里和你后裔心里的污秽除掉，要你一心一意爱耶和华你的神，使你可以存活。

因此耶和华领亚述王的将帅来攻打他们，用钩子钩着玛拿西，用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。玛拿西在急难的时候，就恳求耶和华他的神，并且在他列祖的神面前非常谦卑。他向耶和华祷告，耶和华应允他的恳求，垂听他的祈求，使他归回耶路撒冷，恢复他的王位。玛拿西这才知道只有耶和华是神。
