世間未有不犯罪者、如主之民獲罪於主、主向之震怒、付於敵人、為敵擄至異邦、或遠或近、

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.If we say that we haven’t sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.

Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and doesn’t sin.

Don’t enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no man living is righteous.

What is man, that he should be clean? What is he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight;how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!

Therefore Yahweh was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight. There was none left but the tribe of Judah only.

If you, Yah, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?

They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land. Even then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it didn’t have in your Sabbaths when you lived on it.“‘ As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword. They will fall when no one pursues.They will stumble over one another, as it were before the sword, when no one pursues. You will have no power to stand before your enemies.You will perish among the nations. The land of your enemies will eat you up.Those of you who are left will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers they shall pine away with them.“‘ If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me; and also that because they walked contrary to me,I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land.The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them; and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly and to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God.

Who can say,“ I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin?”

Yahweh will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth. There you will serve other gods which you have not known, you nor your fathers, even wood and stone.Among these nations you will find no ease, and there will be no rest for the sole of your foot; but Yahweh will give you there a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and pining of soul.Your life will hang in doubt before you. You will be afraid night and day, and will have no assurance of your life.In the morning you will say,“ I wish it were evening!” and at evening you will say,“ I wish it were morning!” for the fear of your heart which you will fear, and for the sights which your eyes will see.Yahweh will bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I told to you that you would never see it again. There you will offer yourselves to your enemies for male and female slaves, and nobody will buy you.

Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Yahweh will bring you, and your king whom you will set over yourselves, to a nation that you have not known, you nor your fathers. There you will serve other gods of wood and stone.

and forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions in which they have transgressed against you; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them

Even all the nations will say,“ Why has Yahweh done this to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?”Then men will say,“ Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they didn’t know and that he had not given to them.Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against this land, to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book.Yahweh rooted them out of their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and thrust them into another land, as it is today.”

“ Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us confusion of face, as it is today; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near, and who are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you.To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness; for we have rebelled against him.We haven’t obeyed Yahweh our God’s voice, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.Yes, all Israel have transgressed your law, turning aside, that they should not obey your voice.“ Therefore the curse and the oath written in the law of Moses the servant of God has been poured out on us; for we have sinned against him.He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges who judged us, by bringing on us a great evil; for under the whole sky, such has not been done as has been done to Jerusalem.As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come on us. Yet we have not entreated the favor of Yahweh our God, that we should turn from our iniquities and have discernment in your truth.Therefore Yahweh has watched over the evil, and brought it on us; for Yahweh our God is righteous in all his works which he does, and we have not obeyed his voice.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will soon utterly perish from off the land which you go over the Jordan to possess it. You will not prolong your days on it, but will utterly be destroyed.Yahweh will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where Yahweh will lead you away.

until Yahweh removed Israel out of his sight, as he said by all his servants the prophets. So Israel was carried away out of their own land to Assyria to this day.

In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
