亞麼士子以賽亞遣人告希西家曰、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、爾祈禱我、攻亞述王西拿基立、當以我言告之曰、郇邑未字之女、藐視爾、戲笑爾、即耶路撒冷之女、其頷首也、亦適以欺爾。爾所侮所欺者為誰、爾白眼而視、疾聲而呼、欲攻誰乎、豈非以色列族之聖者乎。爾遣僕侮耶和華云、我率眾車、已躋山巔、在利巴嫩旁、斫柏香木之高者、松柏之美者、我必造其極處、奪其良田、我鑿井而飲、所經之地、圍其城垣、絕其汲道、耶和華云、爾豈不聞自古以來、作之者我、定之者亦我、今爾變城垣為瓦礫、乃我使之然。彼民荏弱、驚懼懷羞、如山野之蔬、屋上之草、未及其長、為風所暴、爾之居處、爾之出入、爾之狂妄、悖逆乎我、我知之矣、因爾狂妄驕奢、升聞於上、故必置圈於爾鼻、置勒於爾口、使爾仍由其途而返。當告以色列民曰、今歲不耕而稔者、爾其食之、明年亦然、至於三年、可稼可穡、植葡萄園而食其果、既遇斯事、可以為徵。猶大之遺民、必下深其根、上結其實。耶路撒冷之民、將出郇山、得救之人將往、因我萬有之主耶和華熱中、必有此為、遂指亞述王、語民曰、彼必不入此城、不以干戈弓矢陳於前、不築壘以攻擊、必由所來之途而返、不入此城、我為己榮、亦為我僕大闢故、將扞衛此城、加以援手、我耶和華所言如此。是夕耶和華之使者、出在亞述營、擊其士卒十八萬五千、詰朝、惟見尸骸而已。

我上帝之聖所荒蕪、求爾垂顧、以彰主榮、應僕所祈、我之上帝與、我儕祈禱、非為我義、乃為爾仁慈、求爾垂聽斯邑、為籲爾名之所、今已荒圯、爾其鑒察焉、斯邑斯民、皆屬上帝、望主垂聽、望主赦宥、望主助余勿緩、以彰爾榮、

爾使我敵敗北、蹶其趾、淪胥以亡兮。爾在位兮秉大公、爾聽訟兮伸我冤。
