如以色列族中知其艱苦、不論何事、展舒其手、向斯殿以祈求、

主之民以色列、無論何人、自覺己心之憂痛愁苦、向此殿舉手、無論何祈何禱、

and when a prayer or plea is made by anyone among your people Israel— being aware of their afflictions and pains, and spreading out their hands toward this temple—

But suppose one of your people prays to you. They ask you to help them. They are aware of how much they are suffering. And they spread out their hands toward this temple to pray.

whatever prayer, whatever plea is made by any man or by all your people Israel, each knowing his own affliction and his own sorrow and stretching out his hands toward this house,

every prayer or petition that any person or that all your people Israel may have— they each know their own affliction and suffering— as they spread out their hands toward this temple,

whatever prayer or plea is made by anyone or by all Your people Israel, each knowing his own affliction and his own pain, and spreading his hands toward this house,

whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows his own burden and his own grief, and spreads out his hands to this temple:

what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house:

whatever prayer or petition anyone from your people Israel might have— each man knowing his own affliction and suffering, and spreading out his hands toward this temple—

[ Then] what prayer[ or] what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:

When all your people Israel pray and ask for help, as they acknowledge their intense pain and spread out their hands toward this temple,

whatever prayer and supplication is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who will each know his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread out his hands toward this house;

What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race.

Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can fully share its joy.

When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the entire community of Israel, and he lifted his hands in prayer.Now Solomon had made a bronze platform 7 1/2 feet long, 7 1/2 feet wide, and 4 1/2 feet high and had placed it at the center of the Temple’s outer courtyard. He stood on the platform, and then he knelt in front of the entire community of Israel and lifted his hands toward heaven.

I cry out to the Lord; I plead for the Lord’s mercy.I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.

Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. InterludeFinally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself,“ I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. InterludeTherefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.

When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will not look. Though you offer many prayers, I will not listen, for your hands are covered with the blood of innocent victims.
