Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

Many nations shall come and say,“ Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month.

“ It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord;“ I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.

I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.

Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are You not He, O Lord our God? Therefore we will wait for You, Since You have made all these.

Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.

Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.

Thus says the Lord:“ Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said,‘ We will not walk in it.’

Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds.And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them On the face of the whole earth.He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy.“ Listen to this, O Job; Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.

that the Lord your God may show us the way in which we should walk and the thing we should do.”

Ask the Lord for rain In the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.

Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.

They do not say in their heart,“ Let us now fear the Lord our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.”

“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them,then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance.

It is written in the prophets,‘ And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

And Elijah said to them,“ Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there.Then Elijah said to Ahab,“ Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.”So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees,and said to his servant,“ Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said,“ There is nothing.” And seven times he said,“ Go again.”Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said,“ There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said,“ Go up, say to Ahab,‘ Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’”Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel.

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,“ This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance, When it was weary.
