異邦人所奉虛無之神、有能降雨者乎、天能自沛甘霖乎、主我之天主歟、能若是者、非主乎、主行此諸事、故我仍仰望主、

凡敬畏主者、主必示之以當擇之道、

求主以主之道指示我、以主之路教訓我、使我踐行主之真理、又訓誨我、因主乃救我之天主、我終日惟仰望主、

主曾如是云、爾曹當立道旁以觀、訪其舊途、何為善道則行之、如是可得平康、惟彼云、我儕不欲行、

使潤氣蒸於密雲、使雲霞鋪散、雲氣以天主之旨旋轉游行、所行於地、皆遵天主之命、或以降災於地、或以施恩於人、約百乎、當聽此、立而思維天主之奇妙、奇妙或作異跡

願主爾之天主、示我當行之途、當為之事、

秋兩之時、當祈主降雨、惟主造電、為民沛下甘霖、使田間菜蔬、為人而生、

主至善至正、因此指引罪人歸於正道、

其心不自謂曰、我儕當敬畏主我之天主、主隨時賜雨、即春雨秋雨、為我定穡期、永存不廢、

如民獲罪於主、致天閉塞不雨、而在此處祈禱、認主之名、主罰之之後、悛悔罪惡、求主在天垂聽、赦免主之僕、主之民以色列之罪、示之以當行之善道、使雨降於主之地、即主所賜主之民為業之地、

先知書載云、眾將蒙天主之訓、故凡聽父訓而學之者、悉就我、

以利亞謂之曰、爾曹可執巴力之諸先知、勿使一人逃遁、遂執之、以利亞攜至基順溪、盡殺之、以利亞謂亞哈曰、爾可上、以食以飲、因大雨將降、我已聞其聲、亞哈遂上、以食以飲、以利亞登迦密山巔、屈身向地、伏面於兩膝之間、謂僕曰、爾上、向海而觀、遂上、觀之、曰、無所有、曰、再往、如此者七次、及第七次、僕則曰、有片雲甚小、自海而起、大如掌、曰、往告亞哈云、當備車而下、恐為雨所阻、其間天因風雲黑蔽、且降大雨、亞哈乘車往耶斯烈、

爾或往左、或往右、耳中必聞爾後有聲曰、此乃正道、爾當行之、

天主歟、主曾降甘雨、滋潤主之地、其疲乏時、主使之復蘇、
