If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;

“人若是得罪了鄰舍，有人要他起誓，他就來到這殿，在你的祭壇前起誓；

『人若得罪了鄰舍，有人叫他用一種咒語來起誓，他來到這殿，在你祭壇前起誓；

人若獲罪於鄰、令其發誓、則至此室、在爾壇前發誓、

如人與同儕有所干犯、至此殿、發誓於壇前、

人若獲罪於人、有人使其在此殿主之祭臺前發誓、

“ When anyone wrongs their neighbor and is required to take an oath and they come and swear the oath before your altar in this temple,

“ Suppose someone does something wrong to their neighbor. And the person who has done something wrong is required to give their word. They must tell the truth about what they have done. They must come and do it in front of your altar in this temple.

“ If a man sins against his neighbor and is made to take an oath and comes and swears his oath before your altar in this house,

“ If someone wrongs another person and is required to take an oath of innocence in front of your altar at this Temple,

“ When someone is accused of sinning against his neighbor and the latter pronounces a curse on the alleged offender before your altar in this temple,

[ Then] shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept[ thereof], and he shall not make[ it] good.

And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness[ with another] instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:But if thou hast gone aside[ to another] instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make[ thy] belly to swell, and[ thy] thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.

And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and[ is] a witness, whether he hath seen or known[ of it]; if he do not utter[ it], then he shall bear his iniquity.

And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

Lest I be full, and deny[ thee], and say, Who[ is] the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God[ in vain].

If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
