『人若得罪了鄰舍，有人叫他用一種咒語來起誓，他來到這殿，在你祭壇前起誓；

人若獲罪於鄰、令其發誓、則至此室、在爾壇前發誓、

如人與同儕有所干犯、至此殿、發誓於壇前、

人若獲罪於人、有人使其在此殿主之祭臺前發誓、

“ When anyone wrongs their neighbor and is required to take an oath and they come and swear the oath before your altar in this temple,

“ Suppose someone does something wrong to their neighbor. And the person who has done something wrong is required to give their word. They must tell the truth about what they have done. They must come and do it in front of your altar in this temple.

“ When someone is accused of sinning against his neighbor and the latter pronounces a curse on the alleged offender before your altar in this temple,

那看守的人要凭着耶和华起誓，手里未曾拿邻舍的物，本主就要罢休，看守的人不必赔还。

要叫妇人起誓，对她说：‘若没有人与你行淫，也未曾背着丈夫做污秽的事，你就免受这致咒诅苦水的灾。你若背着丈夫行了污秽的事，在你丈夫以外有人与你行淫，（祭司叫妇人发咒起誓，）愿耶和华叫你大腿消瘦，肚腹发胀，使你在你民中被人咒诅，成了誓语；并且这致咒诅的水入你的肠中，要叫你的肚腹发胀，大腿消瘦。’妇人要回答说：‘阿们，阿们。’

“若有人听见发誓的声音，他本是见证，却不把所看见的、所知道的说出来，这就是罪；他要担当他的罪孽。

你们又说：‘凡指着坛起誓的，这算不得什么；只是凡指着坛上礼物起誓的，他就该谨守。’

恐怕我饱足不认你，说：耶和华是谁呢？又恐怕我贫穷就偷窃，以致亵渎我神的名。

“人若得罪邻舍，有人叫他起誓，他来到这殿在你的坛前起誓，求你在天上垂听，判断你的仆人：定恶人有罪，照他所行的报应在他头上；定义人有理，照他的义赏赐他。
