然天主豈真與世人同居於地乎、天與天上之天、尚不足為主之居所、況我所建之殿乎、

“ But will God really dwell on earth with humans? The heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built!

“ But will God really live on earth with human beings? After all, the heavens can’t hold you. In fact, even the highest heavens can’t hold you. So this temple I’ve built certainly can’t hold you!

“ But will God indeed dwell with man on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this house that I have built!

“ But will God really live on earth among people? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built!

“ God does not really live with humankind on the earth! Look, if the sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this temple I have built!

But who is able to build him a house, seeing heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, save only to burn incense before him?

Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?

Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, thou art there.If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;Even there shall thy hand lead me, And thy right hand shall hold me.

Who is like unto Jehovah our God, That hath his seat on high,That humbleth himself to behold The things that are in heaven and in the earth?

The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.And they shall know that I am Jehovah their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them: I am Jehovah their God.

How much less shall I answer him, And choose out my words to reason with him?

Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you after this manner, neither believe ye him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?

Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in houses made with hands; as saith the prophet,The heaven is my throne, And the earth the footstool of my feet: What manner of house will ye build me? saith the Lord: Or what is the place of my rest?

How much more them that dwell in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the dust, Who are crushed before the moth!

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?Behold, even the moon hath no brightness, And the stars are not pure in his sight:How much less man, that is a worm! And the son of man, that is a worm!

Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led away captives; Thou hast received gifts among men, Yea, among the rebellious also, that Jehovah God might dwell with them.

I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago( whether in the body, I know not; or whether out of the body, I know not; God knoweth), such a one caught up even to the third heaven.

But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded!

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.
