When he finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, he gave Moses the two tablets of the covenant, stone tablets, written with God’s finger.

I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more.”In that he says,“ A new covenant”, he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away.

Yahweh said to Moses,“ Chisel two stone tablets like the first. I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

As soon as he came near to the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing. Then Moses’ anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.

He took and put the covenant into the ark, and set the poles on the ark, and put the mercy seat above on the ark.

All of you stand today in the presence of Yahweh your God: your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel,your little ones, your wives, and the foreigners who are in the middle of your camps, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water,that you may enter into the covenant of Yahweh your God, and into his oath, which Yahweh your God makes with you today,that he may establish you today as his people, and that he may be your God, as he spoke to you and as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.Neither do I make this covenant and this oath with you only,

These are the words of the covenant which Yahweh commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.

He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said,“ We will do all that Yahweh has said, and be obedient.”Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said,“ Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words.”
