In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing:

It was the first year of the rule of Cyrus. He was king of Persia. The Lord inspired him to send a message all through his kingdom. It happened so that what the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah would come true. The message was written down. It said,

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the Lord fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah. He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom:

In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken through Jeremiah, the LORD roused the spirit of King Cyrus of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and also to put it in writing:

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia— in order to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah— the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he sent a proclamation throughout his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,

In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, the word of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. The Lord put it into the mind of King Cyrus of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and also to put it in writing:

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD[ spoken] by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and[ put it] also in writing, saying,

In the first year of the reign of King Cyrus of Persia, in fulfillment of the promise he delivered through Jeremiah, the LORD moved King Cyrus of Persia to issue a written decree throughout his kingdom.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that Yahweh’s word by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

“七十年满了以后，我要按着他们的罪孽惩罚巴比伦王和那国，就是迦勒底人之地，使它永远荒凉。”这是耶和华的宣告。

“耶和华这样说：‘为巴比伦所定的七十年满了以后，我必眷顾你们，向你们实行我满有恩惠的诺言，把你们带回这地方来。

波斯王古列元年，耶和华为要应验他藉耶利米的口所说的话，就激动波斯王古列的心灵，使他通令全国，传达文告说：“波斯王古列这样说：‘耶和华天上的神已经把地上万国赐给我。他指派我在犹大的耶路撒冷为他建造殿宇。你们中间凡是他的子民，愿神与他同在的，都可以上犹大的耶路撒冷去，建造耶和华以色列的神的殿，他是在耶路撒冷受敬拜的神。

这样，就应验了耶和华藉耶利米所说的话：直到这地享满了安息，因为这地在荒凉的日子，就享安息，直到满了七十年。

波斯王古列第三年，有一个信息启示给那称为伯提沙撒的但以理。这信息是真的，是关于一场大战争；但以理明白这信息，了解这异象。

于是，犹大和便雅悯的族长、祭司、利未人和所有被神激动了心灵的人，都起来要上去，重建在耶路撒冷耶和华的殿。

“耶和华这样说：‘论到这地方，你们说：“这地荒废，没有人烟，也没有牲畜。”但在这荒凉、没有人烟、没有居民、也没有牲畜的犹大各城和耶路撒冷的街上，必再听见欢喜和快乐的声音，新郎和新妇的声音；还要听见那些带着感恩祭到耶和华殿的人的声音说：“你们要称谢万军之耶和华，因为耶和华是至善的，他的慈爱永远长存。”因为我必使这地被掳的归回，像起初一样。’”这是耶和华说的。“万军之耶和华这样说：‘在这荒废、没有人烟、没有牲畜的地方，和这地所有城中，必再有牧人放羊的牧场。在山地、高地和南地的各城，在便雅悯地，在耶路撒冷周围的各处，以及在犹大的各城里，必再有牧人数点经过手下的羊群。’”这是耶和华说的。“看哪！日子快到（这是耶和华的宣告），我必实践我向以色列家和犹大家应许赐福的诺言。

我对古列说：‘我的牧人；他必成就我所喜悦的一切。’他要对耶路撒冷说：‘你必被重建起来！’他必对圣殿说：‘你的根基要奠定！’”“我耶和华所膏立的古列，我紧握着他的右手，使列国降服在他面前；我也松开列王的腰带；我使门户在他面前敞开，使城门不得关闭；耶和华对古列这样说：我必亲自领导你，把高低不平的路修平；铜门，我必打破；铁门，我必砍断。我必把隐藏的宝物和在隐密处的财宝赐给你，使你知道我就是按着你的名呼召了你的耶和华，以色列的神。因我的仆人雅各和我所拣选的以色列的缘故，我按着你的名呼召了你；你虽然不认识我，我却给你这个尊贵的名号。“我是耶和华，再没有别的神了；除了我以外，并没有真神；你虽然不认识我，我必坚固你，

看哪！我要激动玛代人来攻击他们。玛代人不重视银子，也不喜爱金子。他们的弓箭必射倒年轻人，他们不怜悯妇人腹中的婴儿；他们的眼也不顾惜小孩。

“因为耶和华这样说：‘我怎样使这一切大灾祸临到这人民，我也必照样使我应许他们的福乐临到他们。你们说：“这地荒凉，没有人烟，也没有牲畜，是交在迦勒底人手中的。”但将来在这地上，必有人买卖田地。在便雅悯地，在耶路撒冷周围的各处，在犹大各城，以及在山地、高地和南地的各城，人必用银子买卖田地，在地契上签名，把契封好，又请证人作证；因为我必使他们被掳的人归回。’”这是耶和华的宣告。

神又兴起一个人敌挡所罗门，就是以利亚大的儿子利逊。他是从他主人琐巴王哈大底谢那里逃出来的。

我向我特选的军兵下了命令；我也呼召了我的勇士，就是我那些骄傲自夸的人，去执行我在怒气中所要作的。听啊！山上有喧哗的声音，好像是众多的人民；听啊！有多国的人的嘈杂声，好像是列国聚集在一起。万军之耶和华正在数点军兵，预备打仗。他们从远地而来，从天边而来。就是耶和华和他恼怒的工具，要毁灭这全地。

后来，耶和华激动了非利士人和靠近古实的阿拉伯人的心，和约兰作对。

因此，以色列的神激动了亚述王普勒的心，就是亚述王提革拉．毗尼色的心，他就把流本支派、迦得支派和玛拿西半个支派的人掳到哈腊、哈博和哈拉，以及歌散河边，他们的后裔直到今日还在那里。

于是耶和华激发了撒拉铁的儿子、犹大省长所罗巴伯的心，和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚的心，以及所有余剩子民的心，他们就来兴工建造万军之耶和华他们神的殿宇。

又在犹大和耶路撒冷发出通告，叫人把神的仆人摩西，在旷野规定以色列人缴交的税款带来，献给耶和华。

于是下了命令，通告全以色列，从别是巴直到但，叫人民来耶路撒冷守逾越节记念耶和华以色列的神，因为照着所记的定例举行这节的人不多。

现在求我主我王听你仆人的话。如果是耶和华激动你攻击我，愿耶和华收纳祭物；如果是人激动你，愿他们在耶和华面前受咒诅，因为他们今天把我赶出来，不容我在耶和华的产业上有分，说：‘你去服事别的神吧！’

因为许多国家和大君王将要奴役迦勒底人，我必按着他们的作为和他们手所作的报应他们。”

又应该坚持我们所宣认的盼望，毫不动摇，因为那应许我们的是信实的。

于是耶和华兴起一个人敌挡所罗门，他是以东王的后裔以东人哈达。
